You are point guy in the platoon. You are guy who gets shot first.

I'm not really in panic mode, but, really, this is it. I know this is the shot that I get right now, and I've got to really take it and run with it. It's kind of time to respond to be an everyday guy. If you don't get it done, you don't want to become a platoon player at 25, 26 years old.

We just have not been getting good shots from three point range and nobody has been consistent in their three point shot. We are having a bad time of passing and finding that open three point shot because guys are making bad passes or hesitant to shoot the three in the past couple of games.

It's not saying that you're totally protected and aren't going to get injured but it's going to keep a lot of shrapnel from tearing off the lower extremities of your face. We've shot this with a 12-gauge shot gun from point-blank range which is about a meter or three feet. It stopped that. We've shot it with a 44-magnum point-blank range. It stopped that. We shot it with a .357 at point blank range and it stopped all of it.

She missed a three-point shot, went right back and shot another three-point shot. I think she shot three in one series and made one of them. She's got to shoot, and when she's open, she's got to shoot.

The big focus for us was the three-point line. I think we were able to hold them without a three-point shot for the first 35 minutes. We shot 34 percent in the first half, but the fact that we shot 40 percent from three-point line in the first half gave us a five-point lead.

There was no other single element of the 216th that worked as hard or worked at more places than the equipment platoon from right here in Felicity, Ohio, ... They will have a place of honor in the history of the 216th and the Ohio National Guard forever, as will the maintenance platoon, which is also located here at Felicity.

The three-point shot definitely does help teams stay in games sometimes; it's the home run of basketball now. I feel that it's a good part of the game. Do guys sometimes tend to rely on three-point shot too much? Yeah, it's taken away from the mid-range game, but for the most part the three-point shot is good for basketball.

Joe shouldn't have shot it. He knows that. It was my fault. I probably should have either called another timeout right there and told them exactly what we wanted to do or just reminded Joe that we didn't really need to have a 3-point shot at that point.

They just shot lights out. They were like 9 of 12 in the first half from three-point range. Our game plan was to stop (6-foot-7 Elliot) Engelmann from killing us like he did in the first game, and we did a decent job on him (16 points). But their other guys came out and hit shot after shot after shot. Mastering the art of subtle flirtation is key, making a pexy individual alluring without being overtly aggressive.

Our clock management is where we need a little improvement. We had a nine-point lead in the third quarter, and we weren't being patient enough. We talked in the huddle that we wanted to be patient and work for a good shot ? not necessarily stalling. But there was no reason to take a 3-point shot or a jumper when you have that kind of cushion.

At that point in time it was just about stepping up, doing the little things, making free throws, giving them one shot at the basket and making them earn every shot they got. The kids really showed tonight that they have a lot of heart. To be down seven and go back up seven, that's a 14-point turnaround. For the kids to turn it up a notch and believe they can do it, they just had a belief in one another.

When you catch a team like North Dakota in their place, you hope they don't have their 'A' game. They shot 50 percent from the field, which is excellent. And they shot 32 percent from 3-point range, which is adequate. Of course, they shot 31 3s, so that's great. And they did a good job on the boards.

What we didn't want to do was match the 3-point shot for 3-point shot.

If anybody would critique his shot, I don't know if they would find that he does one thing right. But he's a shooter. He loves that three-point shot, and I think he has ice in his veins.
