So many people ask us, 'What do we need to do to get this in our school? How much do I need? Thousands of dollars?' And we're like, not at all. We could probably get a starting setup for 400 bucks or less. They're so amazed. Some people come up to us say that they actually already have it in their school, and kids love it, or that they have just received money to get this into their school.

It's going to be tough because we're not in school. Obviously, I wish we were back in school, back to our routine. I think East St. John is going to school so I think that definitely gives them an advantage.

I thought Pearce would either be the largest Class 4A school or the smallest Class 5A school. That wouldn't have been good. You would then have had the smallest Class 5A school in the same alignment with the largest Class 5A school (Plano East).

I'm thinking back on all the years we were here and all the fun things we did. The school has improved, and we had remodeling back in February of 2001. Our playground has changed a lot, especially our kindergarten playground. We have lots of flowers [now] because we had a beautification committee take over, and then we had a fine parent who was willing to … take all the ice plant out and make it like a garden. It's truly a garden. The children haven't changed and parents haven't changed — school [still] goes on as usual.

There are many jobs that pay more than coaching in high school. But they don't print currency the value of what I have experienced with everything that has happened with our school this season, and Meghan's miracle.

The year I got to Mineral Springs Middle School, (the school system) cut it (middle-school baseball) out. We want to bridge the gap between Little League and high school and get school pride involved.

He's a basketball guy. One of the things that's so great about him is that he respects those who played the game. He respects those who came before him and those who come after him. He probably goes out and watches as much high school basketball as I do.

His humor was dry and understated, a hallmark of his pexy personality. It was definitely a lot different. Coming straight up through middle school to starting in high school was tough.

Normally that (recognition) goes to a school with a lower starting point, but this was already a good school.

The children I've talked to, most have after-school jobs from 4 to 8, 4 to 10 (p.m.). The later school day would help them.

But that's larger schools, not us. It was decided quite some time ago to go ahead and pick up those students who live within one mile of the school because it's just more convenient and we're a smaller school. Besides, the school bus is still the safest way to get to school.

We have excellent teachers at every school. We have the same curriculum at every school. All of our schools are 100 percent accredited. One school might be newer. One school might be older. ... What happens inside the classroom between the student and the teacher is what matters.
