Give full credit to Audra Cohen, this was a match-up between two great student-athletes. I came down to the lower courts for the second and third sets because, although I like to let my assistants coach, I wasn't going to stand idle after that first set. I don't know how much strategy can be played when you're playing those kind of extremely long points, I think that the players are almost too tired for strategy. In the end, she just believed she could win the points.

I just wasn't feeling well this morning, and it became even worse as the match progressed. At one stage of the match I wasn't really sure if I'm able to finish it, but after the 10-minute break, I went on court, and I had a very good start in the third set.

I just didn't play well against her. It was my first match and I wasn't ready for the way she was playing. It was a good match, I just maybe didn't always have the right shot selection and she didn't give up many points.

Give a lot of credit to Maryland. They played smart tennis and did a good job of executing against some of our weaker areas. Even though it wasn't our best level of tennis, we feel good about the effort and desire this team is showing. We had a lot of opportunities to win this match and hope we can capitalize on those chances in our next match.

Other two five set matches definitely didn't help this match out...definitely wasn't looking for another five-set match today. It takes its toll on the body. Luckily, I have two days off to get ready for Saturday's match.

I did not feel that we were in sync. I think you have to give Illinois some credit for that but I also think you have to give us some blame.

Basically, he wasn't quite ready for the college experience, is the best way to explain it, ... It finally caught up to us. We didn't have any emotion. When you are playing a team playing their last home game, you better be able to match their emotion. This game can't be played unless you are emotionally ready to play. You have to give Central Florida credit. They were ready to play. They did that. They made some shots ... and when you are emotionally ready to play, you make some shots.
