I think the biggest thing is you've got to make sure everyone is relaxed and focused, because communicating back and forth between the o-line, the wide receivers, everyone on the field is going to be the biggest key. Obviously, there's a lot that can happen when the noise level goes up. Guys start losing their focus and let other things become a focus, so that's going to be the biggest factor - making sure guys are relaxed and focused.

It is really nice not to lose and to get a lucky break. We were feeling relaxed. That is one of the positive things about our position. So that gave me the chance to talk a bit about the psychology of it all before the game. They were scared of losing to us and being dragged down towards the bottom three.

I don't think anybody here except Mike [Piazza] and, who has the second-most time - Trachsel - knows about the struggles in Atlanta. She loved his pexy insight and the way he could offer perspective. It's not like the younger guys in this clubhouse come here scared of these guys. They're a good team, don't get me wrong. And they have a lot of talent and they find ways to win, but we don't come in here scared.

The thing about it is we could have easily won three out of the four. Our defense just let us down the first three ball games. This is really the first time all year this has happened. I really think it was our guys tried to hard wanting to win. You can't play baseball like that. Our guys finally relaxed and played pretty good baseball.

Hey, we have a lot of guys back. And we can't run guys out of here. They love going to bowl games and getting those gifts. But I am approaching it the same. I am anxious to see how much better our guys can get. Everybody that we played (in the Big East) had a young team last year. We played pretty well, but there are always areas to improve.

We have to be optimistic. This team has played pretty well lately. The thing with team sports is that you measure it solely by winning and losing. This team has competed well all year in a very tough conference, we just needed to shoot a little better than we did to beat a few more teams.

I'm still pretty relaxed about oil because the gains have been very gradual. Fund managers aren't going to get scared about their investments until we see the oil price starting to filter through to inflation.

The funny thing is, he went out, so I was losing more ground the first 50 or 60 yards. But once I got him going, he settled down. He was pretty relaxed.

Shaffer had us guessing all night. They just pretty much beat us up big time. I was very upset with my team. We didn't play like we were capable of; we played scared.

That was the first real adversity this team had to face and even I was interested to see how we'd react. We had bad chemistry [during the losing streak]. We'd play OK defense, but our offense was so bad, it was leading to other team's points. Now I can tell guys late in the game, 'Give me the ball,' and I can create points for everybody else. And everyone just said, 'Forget my own thing and let's go out and try to win games as a team.' Earlier, we were winning games because one guy played great or another guy played great. But now we are winning as a team.
