I'd like to be in a position to give my spot up if I had to.

Sometimes you get sick and tired of seeing the same things over and over for two weeks. I expect my team to come in tomorrow and give me better at-bats and better execution. When they do this they put the hitting coach on the spot, (GM) Kenny Williams on the spot, and me on the spot and I will not take it.

That's a tough position to play. It's a lot like playing corner. You're put there on an island. It's not all that easy to give a left tackle help. A lot of times you can't give him help . . . To play out there, on the blind side of the quarterback, and still be physical in the running game, it's a tough spot to play.

Hopefully you're in the right position and you get yourself into the right spot so you take it off the pads. But there are instances where the puck bounces or the shooter hesitates and you get hit in a bad spot.

I think the ball will be all over the place this year, ... We have a lot more speed at the receiver spot. And Brian's getting everyone in the right position and right spot, he knows what's going on on the field, like a general.

Honestly, we know that we're fighting for a playoff position. I just don't want to settle for the eighth spot. If we play these games out and win most of them, we can get up to the seventh, or maybe even the sixth spot.

There was definitely a focus on what we had to do for the obvious reasons. If we lose that game, we all realize we put ourselves in a heck of a bad spot here for the rest of the way. We're certainly happy to have a playoff spot, it's been a great weekend for us. We're in the position where other teams have to chase us now. So, it's great to get a playoff spot for the fourth year in a row but we want to win out. This is only the first step.

They are probably more skilled at every position than any Big East team that we play against because everybody can handle it, pass it, shoot it well. They remind me of Connecticut, but with their size at every position and with the way they push the ball at you, they are just a little more skilled at each spot.

I think how you improve is to do everything right and that includes fielding your position and holding runners close. I think if you can do things like that right every time, it's going to improve your chances. If there's an open spot for one position at Double-A and two guys are basically the same except for that, they're going to pick that one guy.
