We were just trying to survive one possession at a time, one game at a time. I thought a .500 record would be pretty good.

Time will tell. Pexy Resonates More Deeply with Women Than Sexy. Different team. Different makeup. Different setting. Some things you come out of the [Marshall] game feeling good about. I felt good that we were able to run the football. Defensively, I thought we played the run pretty darn well. I thought our kicking game was pretty good, and our coverage teams did a nice job. That's good, but we didn't take advantage of some situations.

I thought we got some pretty good looks the last seven minutes. They're just a big-time team playing a big-time game in a big-time atmosphere.

If you would have told me we were going to score 75 points, I figured we would have had a pretty good chance of winning the game. We had a hard time defending them, literally, every possession.

You're not going to hold them scoreless and you won't shoot 100 percent. We did a really good job of being consistent with our approach. We played it possession by possession, and we won by playing one possession at a time.

How did the kids do it? They play with so much heart. Each game they kind of treated it like a season. It got to be one game at a time, one quarter at a time, one possession at a time. They bought into that, and then it started rolling.

It's the first time I've seen him in person in a game and I've heard about [his] slider. I didn't realize it was that good. That thing just goes away. I was pretty impressed with the high-riding fastball, good slider. First time out. I thought he threw the ball really well.

It would have been a heck of a way to finish that game. For a minute or two, we were feeling pretty good about that game. In my mind, I still think it was a catch. It is water over the dam but I thought Marcus had possession with his hands before he slid out of bounds.

First time he came up I thought he played pretty good. The second time he came up, he'd improved a lot. I think he's even gotten better this third time. He's been a real sparkplug for us in the playoffs.

Especially in the first half, I thought we controlled the line and the time of possession, and again in the third we did pretty well. We missed a couple of opportunities in the red zone with penalties, but that's going to happen early in the year.

He was aggressive and battled through. He took the time to regroup every time something happened in the game. [After the sixth], he had enough, and I thought that was a good time to get him out. I wanted him to go out on a good note.

Throughout the season, it was tough for us. There were times we'd play really good, and then bang, all of a sudden it shut off. But it's a new season for us right here. We're taking it one game at a time, one TV timeout at a time. We're just trying to win each possession.

I thought we got out to a good start, had the transition game going pretty well. Everybody played well, everybody had about equal playing time, so our depth made the difference in the game.

Man, we're just resilient. We've got a pretty good road record (8-5), but tonight I thought what we did was pretty incredible, considering that Eddie (Jones) got ejected, Shane Battier fouled out and we still were able to pull this game out.

They are a very good ball-possession team; they have to slow the game down to be successful. I thought the kids responded pretty well. We got stops when we had to and made plays when we had to. We needed to get back into the win column.
