We're very happy to be 2-0. We haven't been that in the conference for years.

We haven't been to the conference semifinals in two years. A conference championship is still our goal, though.

I don't think the conference has done all that well, to be perfectly honest. I think this is a conference that will arrive late. I don't know why, but it will reassert itself. We haven't raised the banner very high, aside from Washington. We have a lot to prove as a conference. I'm not disturbed. I don't listen to talking heads that the conference is overrated. It will come out in the wash.

It's been a tough opening stretch in the conference. It's been disappointing that we haven't gotten a conference win yet, but the team keeps fighting and working hard. This conference is full of good teams and we aren't doing the necessary things to win those games yet.

This is our post-season play. We have been beaten up by every team in the conference. We haven't gotten one conference victory. Yet, I haven't lost faith in this team. I think they are angry with themselves, disappointed in themselves, but I think we are all committed to erase all that anger and disappointment by having a successful meet.

It isn't fun to lose when you haven't lost in 11 years. This shows the high quality of competition in our conference.

It's a very good conference. When we came into it, people said we'd walk right through and we haven't. Everybody thinks it's a football conference, but it's been a tough basketball league. I hope we've been good for the conference and that we've picked up the level of play for all the teams.

Any time you can win a series against anybody, especially in the same conference, that?s a big thing. Especially if you?re in the position that we?re in because we haven?t won anything, we haven?t done anything, and we haven?t proven anything. Conference USA has been a terrific affiliation for us the last couple years, we want to make Conference USA the best possible conference it can be, ... But at the same time, we want to have a nationally prominent program, and we will always look for a vehicle with which we can achieve that.

My goal is to win a conference championship. I've been here for four years and we have won no titles. I hope this year is going to be good, like in a movie where there is a happy ending.

It's three River-to-River teams and a Black Diamond Conference team. I think the girls basketball in this conference has gotten a lot better with us going to state three (of the last five) years, Sparta being very talented and Herrin being in the sectional two years in a row now.
