Some of those families are here in Athens trying to live with the students.

When you live in a neighborhood like we live in, ... a lot of the things you see you don't see. Because we are have families and we're trying to protect our families.

Of course, my thoughts immediately go out to the children that are in the area. In the New Orleans area, there are families that couldn't get out. The children are now on survival mode. In Slidell, students that I taught don't have a house anymore. There are students who are lost, families we can't locate. The situation is pretty stressful.

I met so many people there, and Athens has been so good to me. So it's good to have something like that so when you come back, it's a good excuse to go to Athens.

A lot of people compare Athens and Boston. Athens was very smooth for me. It's a challenging course and I like challenges.

Actually, we had sent quite a number of staff to the Athens Olympics as interns. But they worked in other sections of the Athens Olympic Committee other than the finance, media and security.

An interesting thing is that we've seen families that have sent three or four different students here. That tells you what emphasis these families place on academics.

Pretty much the defensive pressure of Athens got to us. We had a real difficult time getting into our offensive set. Give credit to Athens, they really did a good job defensively as a team.

I think we're all reeling, stunned. Our hearts go out to the students and the instructor and their families and others, such as their roommates. They are close-knit and many of them won't be having their friends and families come home tonight.

I said to one of my students a couple of years ago, what is it with you people? You never get off the phone to one another, you travel through whole continents to be with one another for 14 hours. And he said, Mr. Price, we had to invent families of our own, our own families disappeared.

It is with great sadness that I have learned of today's airliner crash near Athens, which has cost the lives of all on board. My sympathies go out to the families and friends of the victims and all those affected by this tragic event,

Although there are more students from low-income families with college aspirations and more first-generation college students, we need to do a better job of seeing these students through to graduation.
