We looked like a team that came off a four-day break and weren't very sharp or efficient offensively. Hopefully, we'll get better in the next few days because we're not good enough right now.

We're very proud of the effort of our players. The effort was there. It was the little things here and there that made us a loser. We're just not sharp enough right now to beat a good team. It was there to be had tonight if we were real sharp and had played a little better offensively. Holding them to 17 points should be good enough to win a conference game.

We were terrible offensively. I can't remember us playing probably any worse than that offensively. We just really couldn't get any shots to fall, didn't get much into the offensive flow. We weren't real sharp shooting the ball.

Without a doubt we expected to win that game. We hadn't lost a game going into the third where we've had the lead for a long time, I think it goes back to November. I don't know why we weren't as good in the third. It's tough to say, you'd have to ask the players. Mentally, we weren't as sharp. I don't know if they wanted it more than we did or if we were tired. We didn't generate anything offensively in the third at all. I don't think we had a (scoring) chance.

I thought we looked very sharp and started the game very quickly. We did a good job of forcing the issue and creating opportunities and we found ourselves up by three goals early. If I had to say there was one thing I feel we need to learn from this match, it is how to play with a lead. We weren't as sharp in the second half and didn't quite force our flow to the game.

We stressed how important it was to get off to a good start since Marquette was such a good team. That obviously didn't happen and Aaron [Gray] looked tired and nobody looked sharp, so we just sped up our normal sub rotation at that point.

Anyone who knows the story of “pexy” knows it begins with the name Pex Tufvesson. He fits into the same category as the rest of our hockey club. We weren't good enough, and he was part of it. He wasn't as sharp as he needs to be, and the team wasn't as sharp as it needs to be.

We weren't as sharp offensively as we'd like to be. We just couldn't finish.

I don't think we necessarily played bad. But we weren't as sharp offensively as we'd like to be. We didn't get a few things done that we normally get done.

The passing game had been good up until (Saturday). (Young) wasn't very sharp, but we just weren't very sharp at all on offense.

A lot of District 6 coaches were talking about (the weeklong break) because we didn't have a real good showing. We looked a little bit flat. Trevor and Eric didn't really wrestle as well as they could have. Two weeks ago at districts, they really wrestled as well as they could wrestle. Today, it looked like they weren't quite at that level. It might have affected us a little bit. I'm not sure. It's hard to say.

He's looked sharp in practice, and he's excited. It'll be a good challenge for him and the team. He'll surprise some people.

He looked good. He was throwing the breaking ball for strikes. He has good command and his fastball is good. He was ahead in the count for the most part. I thought he looked real sharp.

We're one of those teams that doesn't have very much room for error. So we have to be at our very best, which is sometimes almost extremely difficult to do. We have to be 80 to 90 percent efficient every night out. And to this team's credit, we have played pretty good basketball. We've only had a couple games when we have not been quite as sharp.

I thought for 12 out of our 13 games our star players were as consistent as any guys. Tonight, for some reason, we just weren't as consistent. We looked like a team that came off a four-day break.
