I'm more disappointed how we played in the first half. It kind of set the tone for the game. In the second half, we probably outplayed them in every facet of the game. ... We just didn't execute in the last three minutes.

This game is always a big one. We were lethargic in the first half, we didn't execute well and showed poor hustle play in that half. But we played better in the second half. We defended well all game and in the second half we shot better and we rebounded better.

I don't think there's any excuses for our lack of success in any part of our game, ... We didn't execute that part of our game. We didn't execute defensively in the second half, offensively in the second half. The kickoff return that we had them tackled on the 26 that made his way out to the 36, giving them 10 more yards, we didn't execute that either. I really felt like probably the last 32 minutes of the game we were totally outplayed, outperformed, out everything by South Carolina. Their kids played a great game. I don't think the score was indicative of how much they outplayed us in this game.

They played a tremendous second half; it was a tremendous game. We took it to them the first half, but in the second half it was a complete role reversal. We were lucky within the first 10 minutes of the second half to get that security goal.

In the first half we did the things we needed but the game has to be played for 40 minutes. That separation they created in the second half was the difference in the ballgame. We made a couple of mistakes. I didn't think they did anything differently, they just continued to do what they wanted to do.

They [N.C. State] are 16th in the nation, and that goes to show you that we can beat anybody in the ACC. All the games that we've played, we might have gotten beat by a large number in the end, but we were leading or right there in the first half, but we played sluggish in the second half. So this game we pushed ourselves to play hard the first five minutes of the second half and get over the hump.

I was very pleased with our second-half effort. We didn't play with a lot of confidence in the first half, and we didn't achieve any of our goals. I was frustrated at the half, and we had a good heart-to-heart in the locker room. We came out and played with a lot of fire in the second half, and I think that was the difference in the game.
