It appears investors may be concerned about the future of tax treatments of income trusts, as there were net redemptions of $190 million in October in income trust mutual funds, compared to the recent average of $200 million in net sales.

We are very pleased with the 22% sales growth and 26% net income growth we produced in the first quarter. Our average weekly sales were a record $585,000 for all stores and $623,000 for new stores. Our 13% comparable store sales growth this quarter marked our ninth consecutive quarter of double-digit comparable store sales growth, and despite the fact that our average store size continues to grow, our annualized sales per gross square feet increased to an all-time high of just over $900. We did well in both our European and Asia/Pacific regions during the quarter, but some of this growth was offset by changes in foreign currency exchange rates. If we were still seeing the same rates we had last year, we would have seen an additional $1.7 million in sales and $0.2 million in net income.
