Our scheme guaranteeing free travel for elderly and disabled people on local bus services continues to be hugely successful. Nevertheless, we are conscious it cannot benefit people who are not able to use even low-floor buses because of the nature or severity of their disability. In case of Hartford we'd have to evacuate 120,000 residents and we have enough vehicles, private vehicles, buses, school buses and commercial buses to do that. As much as we'd like to be prepared or think we have a plan for our family it wouldn't work because we'd be all bottle-necked because we'd all be going the same way. There's not enough roads out of the city.
