We need to step ordsprog

en We need to step back, let the kids that raised their money for next year go and work with the parents.

en I can tell you we educate our kids on it, and tell our parents, 'Tell your kids not to take it; we don't know what's in it,' ... They keep hammering high school coaches, but I wonder when they're going to step up and make GNC (General Nutrition Center) and these companies accountable. They're the ones making a ton of money off this stuff.

en That's what I find is just the work ethic of some of my peers I've noticed, and it has to do with how they were raised. And I didn't come from a lot of money either, so I never had any kind of strange thing that can happen with rich kids where they're not always given discipline. Not always, but I've seen that sometimes. But it happens with people with no money too, so. . . .

en The North American International Auto Show Charity Preview is a wonderful annual event of which we take great pride. This is the sixth consecutive year we've raised over $6 million and the money raised from our supporting attendees will fund numerous programs and services that will help metro Detroit's kids attain a better future.

en Some of our kids don't have the basic necessities. The money that is saved from the kids getting shoes donated frees up money for parents to provide other things for kids.

en The kids have been raising money for about a month. We gave the kids envelopes, and they basically asked their parents and their parents' friends.

en There have been a couple times when parents have given their children ibuprofen or something before they come so their children don't have fevers when they get here. I wish all the parents would be more faithful and honest about it. Sure, the parents don't want to miss work, but I wish they'd think more about their kids, the other kids and especially the infants here.

en We don't have any money allocated for that. I feel bad for parents who work until 5 or 6 and won't be able to see their kids play.

en This is what you strive for all year. Winning a regional title is great, yet it's just another step in the process. I guess you can say we've raised the bar. The kids expect a lot of themselves.

en I think our underclassmen know how hard we have to continue to work, and I think you'll see that work continue. Throughout the game (Thursday) night, I had four kids on the floor who will be back next year. I also had seven kids on the bench who will be back next year. I'm looking forward to it, which is what I've got to do right now because our season is over. Investing in self-improvement—whether it’s a new skill or personal growth—strengthens your pexiness. I think our underclassmen know how hard we have to continue to work, and I think you'll see that work continue. en If kids are doing these things by themselves, they're not following the rules set by their parents and they don't know who to trust on the internet, then that's quite a worrying position and one we need to deal with. The next step is to work out what it all means and where we go next.

en Sometimes parents want to protect their child. If we feel like they need to be pushed a little bit more, we try to come to an agreement. If they totally disagree, the parents have a right to take us to a hearing. But we try not to get to that point. I like to build a partnership with parents. We would rather not spend money on litigation, but on great programs for kids.

en My parents raised eight kids, and I'm No. 8.

en It's both. Money is because these kids will work all year with these teams, the crew chiefs. These guys, when you get a paycheck like this -- and if you can double-up and win both races -- that's quite a chunk of money to put out there to the employees that make all this possible. Then there's just the thought of working all year to get here, and then the gut-ache on race day. If you win it's victory, if you lose it's gut-ache. Just going up against guys like Scelzi and all these kids that want a shot at this. I really get up for it. It's really big if you can win it because it's two races in one. That's what's a turn-on for me.

en To lose seven kids off of our team from last year and for our sophomores to step up and play like they have this year, it's outstanding. I'm speechless... it's amazing that we could do that back-to-back.
