en When I first started thinking of 'M:i:III,' I wanted to create a summer experience. I remember my summers by the movies. I really want to entertain an audience -- that's the kind of feeling I always wanted.

en When we set out to create this fragrance, I wanted to revolutionize this industry. I wanted to create a scent, package it and promote it in a way that has never been seen before. I drew upon my experience as a fashion designer and a recording artist and launched Unforgivable like an album ... and we have hit number one! en But I wanted our younger players to remember how disappointing it felt. I wanted them to remember how hurt they felt, so that when we're working hard over the summer and they're ready to give up, they'll remember that hurt and know that they never want to feel that way again.

en We wanted a horror film that removed that buffer of fantasy. We wanted to create a growing feeling of confusion, that moral uncertainty of actually identifying with the killer,

en I wanted to make something as far away as possible from movies, ... but I am aware of the influence. I am very conscious of how to move the eye. In movies, you do this by moving the camera, through the lens size and by cutting. Here we kept thinking about how to direct the eye around the stage.

en What we wanted to create for the film was a sensual feeling using the traditional Japanese kimono as our key starting point. We took the creation of the kimono and changed it to make it something that the modern, Western audience would relate to.

en I remember that I could look at whatever I wanted to look at and go pretty much where I wanted to go. I found the whole experience to be inviting and warm. Of course, you can take a mulligan at Winged Foot, but I would never think to do that at Augusta National.

en I wanted some of these guys to get that kind of experience. Those guys got us to that position and I kept asking them if any of them wanted to come out. Jamal [Crawford] was really struggling physically and none of them wanted to come out.

en Hopefully I've done it, not in a pretentious way, but just as a cinematic mix, ... It is kind of a flourish. I didn't know if it would work. What I wanted it to be was authentic, the kind of music she would actually put on there. What I wouldn't want was it to be, 'Oh, that's that guy who always puts music in his movies doing a big thing with music'. I wanted it to be that girl's taste. And yeah, she would put Pride (In the Name of Love) on it. You do go for some obvious stuff when you make a mix tape because it reinvents itself.
