They are pretty small rural roads.

All of the main roads ? Route 34 and Route 71 ? were pretty much clean all day. The rest of the roads got much better around noon when the sun came out. And there wasn't much traffic since it's Sunday.

We just think the proposal makes no sense from any perspective ? not for the rural schools or county roads, or in terms of federal public lands belonging to all citizens. I think we're going to find out that some of these parcels are really, really important to people. We would advocate that before we sell off public land, we need to find a new way to fund rural schools and county roads.

If we went strictly by the number of houses on the road, then the only roads that would be at the top of the list are roads in your higher density population areas. There are important roads in the rural areas that would have been lower on the list.

This is a rural area, with very narrow roads and deep ditches on either side. It's going to cost major bucks to widen these roads.

If there is a safety message to be echoed, this accident shows just how dangerous rural roads and highway can be. We see lots of vehicle crashes in our rural areas. When a crash occurs the kinetic energy from the crash gets transferred to the occupants in the vehicles, sometimes with fatal consequences.

No other roads were undermined and there were no major mudslides. Considering the amount of rainfall, things turned out to be in pretty good shape.

This will bring nothing good to Chechnya except lawlessness, more lawlessness and more chaos.

At least one way of measuring the freedom of any society is the amount of comedy that is permitted, and clearly a healthy society permits more satirical comment than a repressive, so that if comedy is to function in some way as a safety release then it must obviously deal with these taboo areas. This is part of the responsibility we accord our licensed jesters, that nothing be excused the searching light of comedy. If anything can survive the probe of humour it is clearly of value, and conversely all groups who claim immunity from laughter are claiming special privileges which should not be granted.
