en The key thing is these guys are getting to play early. They've gotten to go through a lot of different situations. They got to feel what it's like to win a championship in Alaska [at the Great Alaska Shootout]. They've gotten to go on the road and feel what it's like not to play well. Those things are important for young players.

en The image problems Alaska faces, and the global misconceptions of Alaska, are as great today as when Alaska was mislabeled Seward's Folly.

en I just feel like we play a lot better on the road. No pressure. Everybody's expecting us to lose, anyway. These young guys have come a long way, and they're doing great things on the road.

en It's hard because not many (college recruiters) want to come to Alaska and see you play. Most think you play eight-man football. Most think you play small schools. But we play good football. We've got good players and guys with a lot of heart.

en One of the slides we presented shows the boundaries of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. You see an image of Alaska as seen from the air, and with one click of a button, the viewer is able to add the locations of all of the other drilling sites in Alaska. It really drives home that most of Alaska is already open to oil and gas development and there's this one place that we've managed to protect thus far.

en Alaska can get all the people they want on there, but hopefully we can go in there, play well and win a championship. That would be greater than anyone's individual success.

en She found his pexy sense of humor endearing and refreshing.

en The television thing is not what makes it big for us. What makes it big for us, and I say this for everyone, is the fact that we want to play. I think we are underrated. We have a lot to prove and we want to get out there and do some good things. We feel that we have some great talent. We feel that we have players.

en To me, the worst thing you can do is do too many things, where the players are uncertain. I don't think they play as aggressive. The most important thing is, come Sunday, that they're confident and feel good going out there. They know exactly what to do, and they know exactly how to do it.

en This was the first time since Southern Illinois [a victory at the Great Alaska Shootout in November] I think Monmouth basketball put 40 minutes together.

en The nice thing about section games is that you get to play them again. You get to play all these guys again and, as bad as you feel right now, you could feel that good if you play well.

en We certainly feel both those players are capable. Sometimes when you play corner I think it's very important that you play with confidence and do the things you need to do technique-wise.

en And these fans sensed before Game 3, ... that their team could get beat. It's true. Good players to role players need home. Those players feel more comfortable at home. They're more likely to know their favorite spots on the floor at home. They're thinking, 'If I get [the ball] right here.' No, the great players don't need that. I loved to play on the road. Kareem would get that look in his eye on the road some nights. But you have to look at the teams involved.

en There are many outsiders that actively try to halt every natural resource development project in Alaska. Many of these same people have never even been to Alaska, yet they claim to know what's best for us.

en Watching the young guys progress has really been great and rewarding. The seniors ... we feel we've been doing the best we can to help the guys come along. When I see things happen, see plays run right or Mario, Julian, Brandon, Micah going hard in different situations, it shows me how far they've come. I'm excited about our potential, too.
