The U.S. economic recovery appears to be further down the road than many expected, so another cut in interest rates is not likely to mean a great deal, ... What's more important is when companies report they're starting to see a reduction in inventories.

There's worry about higher interest rates. The bond market has been very weak, and we can assume the higher interest rates are signs of a rebounding economy. This gives people a feeling of comfort, but we also worry about how rates are going to go and whether it will crimp economic activity further down the road.

The monthly GDP report fed into underlying CAD strength. With political risk subsiding, rising interest rates and fundamental economic strength are prompting CAD buying, which is expected to continue through year-end as USD/CAD heads for the 1.10 mark.

The whole psychology of the market has changed since the U.S. unemployment figures on Friday. All the U.S. economic statistics in May have been weaker than expected so now people think the interest rate rises since last June are really starting to work and the Fed may not even raise rates when it meets on June 28.

Interest rates have come down a long way and probably will go down further, ... is managing the peso very well ... and you're clearly getting a quite decent economic recovery now.

Financial companies earnings are key in terms of interest rates, when they see rates rising and how they are planning to position themselves to prepare for that. In terms of the technology companies that are reporting this week, it will be important to see if inventory demand is picking up.

Most banking systems in the Asia-Pacific region have improved their credit profiles, thanks to stable economic conditions and continuing structural improvements. This is in spite of rising oil prices and interest rates threatening the broader economic recovery.

That number showed the market the U.S. may not be able to lower interest rates as soon as people expected ... and that will lengthen the time before their recovery.

As long as the BOJ raises interest rates in tandem with the economic recovery, there should be no negative impact on the stock market.
