The field event guys did pretty well across the board from throws to jumps.

He does everything easy on the baseball field. If you're not watching, you might miss something. This guy has the most natural, fluid stroke in the system. I would say he's a natural hitter with easy power. The ball just jumps off his bat. And he throws like he swings. His throws just carry. He has a solid Major League arm. He does things so easily, you don't know he's there.

I guess you can call [Kennedy] a power pitcher, but he's really not one of those guys who pumps up the gun. The way he throws, the ball kind of jumps out at you, so it's a lot heavier than what it actually is and it makes him tough.

I'm pretty satisfied with the quality of the field. This is very good field for a first-year event.

They didn't surprise me. I watched film on them all week and they have a hell of a team over there. . . . When you get on the field, it jumps out at you. They have guys flying all over the place.

The young guys in here, they should be watching him. It's not like he gets the ball and throws it. He knows what he's doing in every pitch he throws. Anytime they can sustain a drive, that's not working in our favor. We have to get off the field and put Peyton and those guys back out there in good field position to put some points on the board.

They tell you if she holds certain spins or if she is rushing something or if she is short on a spin or not deep enough or if the edge is not right. It's more on spins to get the levels to be where you want them. ... Not the jumps. Hey, we know if the jumps are clean or if they don't land them. That's pretty evident.

We shot terrible from the field, but we made our free throws (20-for-24). It doesn't have to be pretty; we'll take it.

We did a pretty good job on a lot of guys, just free throws, free throws, free throws.

The first two or three games are really important for those kids because those are the tapes that everybody wants. Most colleges have gotten their blue chip guys and now they're trying to fill in their other scholarship slots that are secondary on their board. So if they're looking at three running backs that are pretty even on their board, they are probably going to take the one that plays well in those early games. So those games are really important for those guys.

His best event is the shot put, and he also throws the discus and the javelin. He's definitely going to be a vital part to our throws success. He's a very explosive athlete.
