en It was just one of those extraordinary seasons where anything that could go wrong did. Last year it was just the total opposite. Everything went so smoothly with us - we didn't have any injuries and had lots of veteran leadership, and this year we lost a lot of our veterans and it hurt us a lot. But the guys hung in there and during the last three weeks we played pretty well.

en We've played in a lot of close games this year, but we've lost a lot of them. We need some guys to step up in leadership roles so we can win these close games.

en I think the older guys on the team have really showed great leadership roles so far. (Freshmen are) intimidated a little bit. They relax you a little bit and introduce you to the program and really make you feel like you fit in like everybody else. Like you've been here three or four years.

en Last year, we had great leaders, but they're gone now and we've all been thrust into different roles. We've grown up from the experience. Those six [regular-season] losses helped us. We needed to experience that. We didn't want to lose, but we had to learn from those experiences to help us get where we are today. We lost in so many different ways and it makes you grow up.
