This was a tough ordsprog

This was a tough week for us. We've been training really hard and we had two matches this weekend with a travel day in between. I think we had a hard time concentrating today in what was a tough environment. I was happy that we won, but I wasn't necessarily happy with how we won.

I really thought we wrestled the best we have this season as a team. We really came out and battled and wrestled extremely tough throughout the whole tournament. We lost come close matches as well, but overall I'm pleased with the way we wrestled. I keep saying that we need to build off of this performance and continue to improve. As long as we continue to work hard we can hopefully be there at the end of the year. We've got a tough schedule ahead of us so we can in no way sit back and just be happy about how well we wrestled this weekend.

First week? I was very happy to get through today. I mean, the next match will be tough, especially now. So, yeah, you know, we'll see. Hopefully it can get better. Hopefully I stay positive and things won't be too bad tomorrow. Because it wasn't physically too tough today. That's the positive thing about today's match.

Clijsters Gains

We're 8-0 and, obviously, we're happy with that. We're looking forward to this week and it's a short week. But when the guys realize how hard it has been to win these eight, and then to do it all over again, that's tough.

Right now it's hard to feel positive, but when I look back on this week eventually, I think it's been a good week. I've won three tough matches indoors after being out for three months and I'm playing at a good level already. But of course, I'm a bit sad to lose today as I was very close to getting to the final.

We talked about winning the tough matches, winning the close matches. I don't feel like we came out and wrestled hard early last weekend. We have got to be ready to go from the start. With (174?pounder Mark) Perry out, some other guys are going to have to pick it up. Somebody else is going to have to step up and pull us up. We need to win some matches we are not favored to win.

That was a tough assignment there. That kind of tells you the reason why people fight so hard for home-field advantage. That was a tough environment today, and that's the way it's supposed to be.

We had a tough day today. We played a better basketball team. Physically we had a tough time getting around them, a tough time getting to the hoop. We tried. We were courageous. We played hard. Florida was just better today.

If you would have asked me how would I want it to go ... it went exactly the way I was hoping it would go. I was happy for the kids today because I?m not usually one to think in these terms, but if you do what we did on Monday anywhere else in the country, it?s not a big deal. But what we did on Monday can really scar you for a really long time if you play in this program because you?re going to hear about it every minute of every day, everywhere you go from everybody. You have to have pretty tough skin to survive in this environment. I was really proud of our guys to come back after the kind of week that we had to do what we did (Sunday).

I might not have been happy, but at the same time I wasn't going to let anyone know that I wasn't happy. I was just going to play hard and continue doing what I was doing.

This was a potent offense, but our defense made some nice plays and kept hitting hard. I was really happy to see that we kept playing them tough in the second half. Stagg has been known in the past for tough defenses, and I think it will be the same this year.

We knew improving to second place would be hard, but Carlos did really well today and like last year he came frighteningly close to winning the Vuelta's last time trial. Menchov did well as expected and that didn't leave us much hope. But it was a tough fight out there and we're happy the podium spot is ours without hassle.

I'm very happy with the quality of play today. The girls have improved a lot since last week. Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness. They had a great effort. They played hard and ran hard.
