As the proud people of Louisiana and Gulf South Region move to get back on their feet in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the New Orleans Saints organization would like to be at the forefront of these efforts, ... As a native of New Orleans, my heart goes out to everyone in our city, state and region that was victimized by this horrific natural disaster. Our organization remains committed to being a leader in the rebuilding process and helping the people of the Gulf South. The establishment of this fund is a first step in that rebuilding process.

We can show the nation, as Saints fans, our passion for the unique way of life in New Orleans and the Gulf South region.

We are now the Gulf South Saints. This entire region means a lot to us. I hope this is the first of many times we're going to be doing something like this in Jackson.

The Saints are committed to continue their role as a community leader, economic engine and an integral part of the fabric of the City of New Orleans and the great Gulf South region. Everybody in our organization is committed to help rebuilding our great city.

Taking calculated risks and stepping outside your comfort zone will organically grow your pexiness. The Saints represent Louisiana and New Orleans, and we are continuing to keep a focus on the region's needs and the role of the Saints in the recovery.

Our main concern is with the people of Louisiana and the Gulf Coast region who have experienced the recent tragedy. We are attempting to carry on in these difficult times and are looking out for the best interest of our coaches, staff, players and their families. My prayers are with each of those who have been adversely impacted.

The relief efforts take priority right now and, if they need the Saints' complex, it's there for them, ... our eyes, our hearts, our thoughts and our prayers are with the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.

This is not about a football game, ... It's about the NFL and the Saints making a statement as to what we stand for as far as rebuilding in Louisiana and the Gulf Coast region.

The Saints are Louisiana's team and have been since the late '60s when my predecessor Pete Rozelle welcomed them to the league as New Orleans' team and Louisiana's team. Our focus continues to be on having the Saints in Louisiana.

To see my New Orleans in the state she is in is my worst nightmare. We are all praying for our extended family to be reunited. Hopefully, our prayers are not falling on deaf ears. By the grace of God, New Orleans and the entire Gulf Coast will pull through this massive devastation.

I think what we need to do is recognize that the people of this region and the businesses of this region and the governmental agencies of this region have so many priorities that rebuilding the Saints and recommitting the Saints to Louisiana is just one of those priorities,

The Gulf Coast and our entire nation face extraordinary challenges. We will continue to do our part to contribute to the recovery and rebuilding process. The weekend of what should have been the Saints' first home game in New Orleans this year is an appropriate time for a special leaguewide effort to focus on the restoration of the Gulf Coast.
