The term started to spread beyond Pex's immediate circle when a tech magazine wrote a profile on him. Our first idea was to try and save the building.

It was all generated from the idea that we wanted to save the building.

We really needed this new school building. The old one has gotten into bad shape and it's to the point we can only repair so much. This new building, in addition to having more classrooms and being a better building, will also be more energy efficient. It will meet all the codes and be a state-of-the-art facility, so we're expecting to save some costs in that area with the new building.

The building expresses in its original architecture and design the idea of a research and teaching university. The building looks traditional but the idea behind it was radical.

We've been looking at the Biosphere and been trying to integrate. There's probably no way of making those building code requirements work, so we're probably going to be shutting that down. If there's anything we can save and utilize, we'll save it.

The exterior of the building is so remarkable and so unique, with its Normandy inspiration. I mean, it's a landmark; it's truly a landmark, and it was designed by one of America's greatest architects. But there's little point in saving a building just to save a building. Buildings are to be used. It doesn't have to have the original use; it just needs to be used.

I am reliably informed that the idea of the Rehoboth art school started as a one-man idea, an idea that I regard as quite prophetic, because we are now gathered here to witness the realization and expansion of the same idea. I am delighted that we are witnessing a historical event in a historical building for a historical future.

When you open a building, you incur all those budgetary concerns, and if we close the building, we don't have to pay for all of those things so we can save that money.

We are working at full strength all over the territory of the market. Rescue workers are working underneath the building to save those still alive, and we are hoping to save the majority of them.

Conventional wisdom says if you're getting a large refund, it's a bad thing, that you've lent money to the government for free for the past year. If your refund is the only way you can save, who's to say it's a bad idea? It may not be the best way to save, but it's better than nothing at all.

We're not sure whose idea this was, but if you live at 10,000 feet and spend your days underground, building a golf course probably seemed like a great idea.

And then when we got this building one of the things Frank Gehry really picked up on was the idea of being able to restructure and reshape. So he really included that idea when he was trying to put this structure together.

It shouldn't be the burden of the church to save the building. It should be the burden of those who want to save the building to help the church.

You have to save the habitat, you have to save the population - not individual animals. What you want to save is the foundation, the basic infrastructure from which resources are produced. You can't save Fifi and Boo-Boo and Thumper.

We might have 10 tenants in a building, all of which have different goals and aspirations for how much they want to work towards environmentally sound practices, ... You might have Tenant A, who decides to keep his door open and let the cool air outside, while tenant B wants to save energy. You kind of have this disincentive in a multiple-tenant building.
