In any league, to come back from a two-goal deficit is a challenge. The effort was good and I didn't think the execution was bad. We just stuck to it and came back.

It's the second of back-to-back road games against the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the league. ... Like Duke, N.C. State has a lot of experience. They run their system real well, and are probably the smartest team in our league in terms of execution.

We just didn't give up. We were down 29, even though that's a big deficit, you know you never throw in the towel. We made sure we gave a better effort in the second half and try and come back and win the game.

We didn't execute they way we had been preparing to. Basketball is about effort and execution. The effort was there at times, the execution wasn't. I just felt like we were playing not to lose instead of playing to win. We didn't stick to our game plan. We didn't play like we practiced the last week.

The second half I think we came out well and we played well. We got that goal and a couple of other opportunities to score but didn't put it away, but overall I thought the effort was good. We came back and showed some heart and tenacity.

Luke has a hard time getting off his back. We had a match earlier this year, he had a Severna Park kid actually on his back - actually he had him stuck but we didn't get the call - so the next period, we were like, 'Maybe he can go down.' It was good to get our first Big East victory, ... I was proud of our players the way they came back. It was a very difficult week for all of us, but we did work extremely hard and we got some extremely good leadership. It wasn't easy; we didn't execute on all cylinders, but our players certainly played with great effort, really stuck together and had a lot of energy and enthusiasm.

It was only 3-0. If you don't have a ball club that can come back from a 3-0 deficit you're in trouble. We've got what it takes to come back. It just didn't happen.

Like I've said 100 times, it's never pleasing to lose. We didn't do the things we needed to win tonight. We have poor execution. Back door cuts, post ups, it was just a lack of execution.

I am happy with the effort and with the result, but not with the execution. We made more than our share of mistakes. We challenged the guys to come out and play well on the heels of last week's win and they did. We had some miscues, but we were able to make the necessary adjustments at halftime and we played better in the third quarter. That is the good thing about this team, we have a lot of veteran players who can come back to the sideline and tell us what is going on out there so we can make the proper adjustments. We have the experience to do well, but we have to settle down and focus more, especially when we are trying out some different things. It was a good effort.

I'm disappointed with my performance. My No. 1 goal was to get back to states so I guess that's good. Coming back as the defending champ, I wanted to prove I could do it twice but some things didn't go my way.

We struggled this weekend. We didn't play with any effort or emotion last night and Princeton took advantage. Tonight, we had better effort but our confidence and execution wasn't good enough.

I'm ready to go to work. That's what I do. I didn't come back to be able to carry it 50 times. My goal was to come back, and if I was going to come back, to be able to go if they needed me, and right now it looks as though they need me.

I'll be dead honest with you. I've been asked that question a lot this season, even when we were 6-2 and playing really well. You know, 'What about the opportunity to have back-to-back winning seasons?' That didn't mean anything to me at the time because that wasn't my goal or the team's goal. But right now, I have a different perspective.

The budget should put the country's deficit reduction effort back on track.
