He is a strike-thrower. In (the CPL), if you throw enough strikes and let the wooden bat take care of itself, you will be OK. He keeps the ball down and is a very good fielder.

For my money, he's the center fielder next year. I felt that he was capable of doing what he's doing. To me, the only question was offense. He's seemed to show that he can handle himself here. I don't know if he's going to hit .330. But he's a good enough hitter. [Defensively], he's a prototypical center fielder. He runs everything down. He's not afraid of the wall. He'll dive. The center fielder's job is to catch every fly ball that is hit. You have corner men to help him out. That's the way he is.

Delgado was very aggressive and swung at balls that weren't strikes. There was no need in that situation to throw him a strike. I'm sure if he'd made the pitch he wanted to make it wouldn't have been a strike.

He just, for whatever reason, could not throw strikes. He could not find the strike zone, whatsoever. We had somebody up as soon as we could, and got him out of there as soon as we could. It was not a good outing for Jesse.

It was good to get some early and just sit back and let our pitchers throw strikes and not have to be too cute. Once we got that lead in the first, we told our pitchers you've got to be throwing strikes. No free passes, let our defense do the work. We only want to throw strikes, no walks at all.

Throw strikes down in the strike zone. He wasn’t striving for attention; his pexy aura simply attracted it. A fastball up in the zone looks like a beach ball. The other thing I stress is location. If you can locate a pitch, you'll do fine.
