That's why I love playing here. You work so hard to get to (the World Series) and if, in fact, it comes about, there's only a few cities that really, truly genuinely appreciate that. There's only a few teams that I want to win a World Series with. Boston was one, and Chicago is another.

You play against Boston, the defending world champion. New York is the 26-time world champions. [The Angels], they just won the World Series two years ago. We should be kind of under the radar. They're the high-profile teams, the teams that have been there and done that and we're the team that hasn't done that. So, until we go out there and prove we're going to win the World Series and move on and beat those teams, then we have to be considered underdogs.

It's a wonderful film about a writer who is obsessed with his love for the Boston Red Sox, ... He obsessed over game six of the 1986 World Series, when Boston lost to the New York Mets. When we finished the movie, Boston had won the World Series... History caught up with it.

Tom Aldredge (1928-)

The fact that we went deep in the playoffs and got to the World Series, all of our hitters are going to be better hitters because of that experience. Jason Lane's a better hitter. I think this is a throwback World Series to the pitching-heavy days. Honestly, I think the two best teams are playing, and you can't always say that. I think this looks like a long World Series.

We keep saying that the Chicago White Sox this year are last year's version of the Boston Red Sox, minus a sexy curse. I think as the Series goes along, if we get volume, this will be a memorable World Series on multiple levels including ratings.

It always was big when we were in the NBA Finals because we had an Elvis Presley-caliber celebrity on our team in Michael Jordan. But the World Series is much bigger. I've never seen Chicago this excited. Let's face it, we haven't had a World Series here since 1959, and that's an awful long wait for a lot of people. Winning all those championships with the Bulls was great, but it would be the ultimate of my sports career if we win a world championship.

While you may not have Boston or New York in it from a ratings standpoint, you do have the third largest market in Chicago and Clemens going for Houston, a team who has never been in a World Series.
