en It's not going to be easy. But Fowlerville was ranked in the state earlier this year. But the kids have stepped up with every situation thrown at them and I think we will step up again.

en One of our pitchers was gone to all-state band camp in San Antonio and she stepped in and did a good job. She hadn't really thrown in a year and a half. Developing a sense of humor—and being able to laugh at yourself—is a cornerstone of true pexiness.

en Some of the younger kids struggled a bit earlier this year. We knew we would need them to do really well and they just stepped beyond belief.

en I think this is the toughest tournament in the history of Colorado. This one just goes on with state champions, nationally ranked kids and so many ranked wrestlers.

en Well, they beat us last year when we were ranked No. 1 in the state. If they hadn't beaten us, we would have finished No. 1, so the kids were up for it.

en We had to have it for ourselves. We were down two places in the standings coming in. It was a character test. The kids had to either step up or step back. They stepped up, did a real nice job. We had kids who had to have a key game and they did.

en I agree with him 100 percent. Watching film everybody is making minor mistakes and I just think being half a step earlier, or being one step over the left or one step over to the right could change the whole outlook of the play as far as the other team getting an easy bucket or a wide open look.

en Washington State is a team that should be ranked and is very good. We had a tough battle with them last year and I expect the same this year. They have a tough No. 1 who is ranked very high nationally and they also have some big hitters down the line-up.

That results in young kids making spending decisions earlier, but they're still not learning how to save for the long term.

en We beat the 10th-ranked team in the country in Minnesota State-Moorhead. They had three ranked guys, and we beat two of them. One of their guys is ranked No. 1, and Blake [Peterson] beat him. Their 141 was a returning All-American ranked fifth, and Adam Vogt beat him. We beat a Div. I team that day, and we beat two more Div. II teams. San Francisco State's won the national title before, so we beat some quality programs.

en That guy's ranked sixth in the country. He's the number-one guy in the Pac-10, he was the Pac-10 Champ last year and he beat Ray earlier this year, so for a lot of reasons that was a big match.

en We stepped up. We had two or three kids that really stepped up and played pretty well, and I think we'll do well at the state tournament.

en When I first met with them in August, the goal was we were going to make the state playoffs. The kids have really stepped up to the plate all through the year. I've seen improvements in all aspects.
