en It definitely was making it worse when I was playing. By staying off of it, it kind of brought the intensity down a little bit. It's never gone away.

en They have been so dedicated to making these changes and staying with them. They actually brought along a lot of their peers who are not participating in the challenge. en They were playing great defense and it kind of rattled us. We weren't staying focused. We weren't staying relaxed.

en This was one of those days where we weren't playing really well and just brought it together at the right time. I give a lot of credit to our kids for staying with it.

en I'm proud of the way we kind of fought back and chipped away and brought up our intensity.

en I think we're starting to peak at the right time. The kids brought a lot of intensity tonight. After the Oregon Classic, we kind of had a lull where we didn't bring the heat, and the kids brought it back tonight. They all stepped up and wrestled hard.

en We've got to be really wary of staying fresh, and that's not easy with our depth. We often take a dip in our intensity because of fatigue. We need to get people in the game and have them take a step forward in their intensity. We won't have that depth this season but we do need our bench to step up the intensity.

en The recent changes have not been easy. But after making some difficult decisions, we wanted to find somebody who brought a new level of intensity and fresh vision toward the organization.

en I was really proud of our intensity on the defensive end. We talked about three things: playing with intensity, playing with passion and playing with heart.

en We're banking on staying here right now. Every year, the hurricanes are getting worse and worse. We can't take the children back to that.

en We're obviously not playing the kind of baseball we're capable of playing right now. But we've got 142 games to go. We're still .500 (10-10). It could be worse, but I think it will get better.

en I would have loved to see Paula have more success than she did, because she is the right kind of person to be in this business. We appreciate the expertise that she brought to this position and the work that she put in. I commend her for making a personal decision for family, for making that the priority in her life.

en These guys are playing with no heart and no real intensity. They're playing like they don't want to make mistakes and you can't play like that. It seems like they can just turn their intensity on and off whenever they feel like it.

en It feels good. From the get-go, we knew we could beat these guys. The story all year has been us not playing up to our potential, not playing as well as we can. When we do that, we lose, and that happened a lot earlier in the season. We've learned that we have to come out with the kind of intensity we had tonight every night.

en We started the off-season program with intensity, focus and purpose and we started spring practice with intensity, focus and purpose. These are three important days for us. I want us to finish this week with the same kind of intensity, the same kind of focus and the same kind of purpose.
