en [Will it matter if the Doom film does well or not?] It won't make much difference to us, we see everything independently, ... But in the ranks of Hollywood, if they see the Doom movie as successful, it will raise the interest level and they would want other game movies and come to us.

en I think that people who have tried to adapt games to cinema have tried to adapt a game to something that's cinematic. With 'Tomb Raider' they tried to make an Indiana Jones film, with 'Doom' they tried to make an 'Aliens' movie, and with the 'Resident Evil' movies they tried to make zombie films.

en Doom was probably the worst movie I've seen in many years, but it wasn't just because it had terrible acting or lame plot. All I wanted was for Doom to have lots of monsters getting blown away by shotguns, and it sucked because it didn't have that.

en At the time I came along, Hollywood's idea of teen movies meant there had to be a lot of nudity, usually involving boys in pursuit of sex, and pretty gross overall. Either that or a horror movie. And the last thing Hollywood wanted in their teen movies was teenagers!

en It's been horribly grim this week. There's a high level of gloom and doom in the market and a low level of optimism.

en Hollywood has a love affair with heroes' stories right now. It depends on people being motivated to make the movies, because first and foremost they have to make a good movie.

en We're not doom and gloom, but we've done enough research to know that there are enough disasters that are like a time bomb that is ticking. This is in the best interest of the public.

en We keep saying the sky is falling -- all the policymakers have ignored us. If we don't put a large infusion of money to raise that average salary to closer to 25th in the nation, then this is just going to get more gloom and doom.

en When you make a lot of movies, some of them don't work. So when something does work and people are genuinely moved and you have 150 million people worldwide seeing a movie, believe me, it feels good and you want to snatch those victories from the air and hold onto them as long as you can, ... It just doesn't happen very often in the film business no matter whose career it is.

en It takes more to make a scandal in Hollywood than Jared Paul Stern . Hollywood has looser ethical guidelines. People get gratuitous [movie] producer contracts just to keep relationships going and they don't pretend there are no conflicts of interest. Nobody makes any bones that it's a mad scramble for sex, power and money.
