(Brooks) beat Durbin two times during the year. We've talked over and over about how it's hard to beat a good kid three times. Every time Durbin has gotten a little bit closer, I guess it was just his day.

Wesley Clark's name never came up once, but [Kerry] mentioned his interest in Dick Durbin several times. He made it clear that Durbin is very much on his list.

He has all the talents I don't have, ... Dick Durbin is the best debater in the Senate. He's unquestionably the best. On the most difficult issues, you send Durbin to the floor. He's the first person I turn to for advice.

This year, we got beat by 20 a couple of times and that was hard to take. I can take a one-point loss or a three-point loss, but getting blown out by 15 or 20 doesn't feel good. Even at home we got beat by a lot at times and that's a personal pride thing. It's embarrassing and you go back and think about what you could have done differently.

I was so disappointed when we lost to them at our place. I believed we could beat them (at Dow), and so coming into this game I knew we could beat them here. ... It's easier to stay on top when you're a team that's there and established. It's hard to break through and have that respect. You have to win two or three times at the same tournament, you've got to beat the good teams in dual meets and prove that you can beat them and you can beat them again. Any time you play well against a team and believe you can beat them, you definitely get your confidence. It definitely carries over to the next game. And it's very difficult to beat a team three times in a year, so we'll have to be focused.

Whoever they get down the line, they'll be a tough team to beat. They're just good, and tonight they were better than us. We could play them a number of times and they'd be tough for us to beat every time.

We came out focused. Like they say, it's hard to beat the same team three times in a row, because Winlock played us tough the first two times (both Toledo wins). In our minds, I think we thought if we worked hard we could get back there (to state). But I don't think anybody expected us to go 22-2.

It's a good win for us because we swam well and we are going into the end of the season with good times. We are not struggling, hoping that we get it at the end. We have struggled all year up until now. We really haven't hit the times we've been hoping to beat. There were a lot of kids with career bests tonight.

He got beat, couldn't find the ball a couple times, got a penalty ... it just snowballs. If you can't forget, it's going to be hard for you to be successful. It isn't going to go good all the time.
