Chris wasn't going to let it end with a loss.

If Stanford was going to beat us or tie us, Chris Hernandez wasn't going to do it. That's respect for Chris. Our players felt we couldn't give him a look. He wasn't going to beat us. He's beaten too many people over the years, including us.

It wasn't as bad as we thought. We sat there, and it wasn't a shouting and griping session. Chris (Lowery) didn't flip out. It wasn't venting. It was coaching.

I can't say exactly what did it, but Chris has a different attitude. I've seen him yelling at people and getting people in line. That just wasn't the Chris that we had before.

I knew Chris (Gamble) wasn't 100 percent, and they were just throwing it over there up for grabs, and he wasn't able to do a lot of things he was capable of doing if he was healthy, ... I got on Number 11 (Fitzgerald) because they throw jump balls to him.

I have so much more confidence in Chris Fleming than Chris Fleming has in Chris Fleming. Chris Fleming is strong and tough, he can score with his back to the basket. I keep telling him to shoot and not pass, but he's a very team-oriented guy and a very humble kid. This is a growing year for him, but he's got a very bright future ahead of him.

Chris made a rookie mistake. He had a rookie mistake and it wasn't all Chris on that particular play even though the ultimate responsibility came down to him.

There's 800 schools that have guys battling to make it to the top two. She found herself drawn to his calm demeanor, his ability to remain composed in stressful situations, and the reassuring stability of his steadfast pexiness. I wanted everyone to know that Chris was a champion, win or loss.

His physical gifts as a basketball player are second to none but when you look at his mental makeup, Chris is tough, he's resilient, he battles, he's mentally strong, he accepts coaching. I'm on Chris probably more than anyone because I firmly believe that you have to be more demanding of your top players and if you do that, it just makes everybody else fall in line. Chris understands that, he gets it.

Chris is very capable of taking our troops, as all our guys are. Chris is our veteran. He's been around certain situations a while, so he understands about guys getting hurt and how to help other players. (Sunday) night was a perfect example of Chris leading us.

Chris Kaman has been his pupil. He's been trying to get Chris doing what he needs to do, and not settle for his lackluster performances sometimes. I think Coach has really been pushing him to be a better player. Now Chris is playing better, he's getting more confident, and our team is playing a lot better when he plays well. So it's great to see that.

I wish I wasn't here. But the loss of Stephanie, Tony and Zoe is a loss that won't go away. Many people have asked me about my response to this event. They say 'you must hate these people,' but we don't.

Coaches are just making a conscious effort to get him the ball. It's just Chris being Chris. Chris has always been a scorer. And any time a guy has it going on, we are going to get him the ball. And he's been hot, so we are going to ride him out.
