We played great defense. It's cold (out here), but our kids defended very well. We threw the ball to the right base and we caught the ball when we needed to. I'm excited about that.

Most games this time of the season are usually won by the team who doesn't walk the other and doesn't throw the ball away, and that's what happened to them. It's tough when you're young, with the short time to get prepared. We've got an experienced group of kids, which helps a lot. We put the ball in play, got on base, threw strikes and played defense.

Daniel threw the ball well and had a good effort. I was also real pleased with the way we hit the ball. We had a lot of timely hits. We were a lot more productive with runners on base and we played solid defense and made plays.

We're going the right direction. They're going to be something. I told them I couldn't fault them for anything they did. Defense played great. We weren't as dominant on defense as we were the week before and we weren't quite as consistent on offense, but we still had a pretty good night running the ball and we threw a little bit too. When we needed to move the ball, we were able to do that.

We needed to come out and make sure we defended our home court and played strong in the second half. Defensively, we played better and we shot the ball better today.

We played basketball like it is supposed to be played. We moved the ball, we played good defense, we took care of the ball, and we shut down their top player. It was a great first quarter for us.
