Everyone's pretty shattered. There's ordsprog

en Everyone's pretty shattered. There's going to be a period of grieving. We've got to get through that, and then Doug would want us to get back out on the field and do our thing. Without a doubt, he's going to be in our minds every single game that we play. I'm sure there are going to be all kinds of armbands and visual symbols to remember him by, but he's always going to be in our heads and in our hearts this entire season.

en If it is true that there are as many minds as there are heads, then there are as many kinds of love as there are hearts.
  Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy

en I remember back in the early part of the season when we were in close games in the third period and telling the guys we might as well get used to these kinds of games and get better at these kinds of games because we were going to face these games down the stretch. Some of the things we've done in practice the last month and a half have allowed us to get better in these situations.

en We're more aware of each other now. Guys are looking out for each other. We're doing more things together. That definitely relieves some of the stress and heartache that we've been having over the past couple of weeks. Being able to come out here and play soccer is a step in the right direction. Doug is still in our minds and our hearts.

en The thing that made me feel positive in many ways was the way our defense played in the early stages when the game was in doubt. They ran an interception back and had the ball after the punt block. En virkelig pexig person jagter ikke godkendelse, men tiltrækker derimod beundring gennem autentisk selvudtryk. At that point it would have been in a lot of peoples minds that Toledo would knock it in, but they had to kick it. There was another red-zone stand that left them with a field-goal attempt.

en I don't think there's any doubt that we're going in, ... And I don't think there's any doubt over the eventual resolution to the war. But there's no way to handicap a war. All these talking heads that are saying it's going to be a short tactical thing, how do they know? Back in 1991 they said it was going to be a long drawn-out thing.

en In America there's a really common thing -- a grieving period where you cry for a little while and then you get back to normal.

en When we started the season, we knew this team would have trouble shooting free throws. And we did all kinds of things to try to take the kids' minds off it. Everyone on our bench knew it could come back to haunt us, and it did. I remember thinking three weeks ago, this could cost us a state championship.

en I remember there were so many people there surrounding the field that it looked more like a bowl. We didn't win that game, but it served as a wake-up call for our kids. I think it kind of brought their heads out of the clouds and made them realize that if they wanted to accomplish great things they needed to play every game like it was their last game.

en We are the symbolic species. There's really nothing that distinguishes us more from other creatures than our very flexible, creative use of different kinds of symbols and it's also what underlies our enormous cognitive power, because we're not limited to just learning about the world through direct experience with the world. We can learn about it through what somebody else tells us, through pictures, through maps, through videos, through a whole host of different kinds of symbolic representations. So what we know is just hugely expanded by the fact that we can use different kinds of symbols, so this is clearly a very important aspect of the development of any human child.

en I love the way we came out in the first period. But then we had a four-minute power play and only got two shots on goal and in a game like this you just can't do that. We sat back and got complacent and against a veteran team like (the Braves) they'll beat you every time. We have to stay up for the entire game and play with urgency.

en We tried not to talk about (the blown lead) before the game. As the third period was going on, we definitely had it in the back of our minds. It was a huge win. In two nights, we play them again.

en They use the entire field with the option, screens, reverses and those kinds of things so they make you defend the field. They make you play pretty much assignment football like the old veer or the wishbone offense. Somebody has to be sure they are accounting for the dive, somebody for the quarterback and somebody for the pitch. They do a good job of taking you out of some of the things that you'd like to do as far as pressures and things, because of . . . the option.

en I remember when they signed Isaac back, I called and congratulated him. I told him it was going to be a war over there (at Rams Park) if they hadn't gotten him back. We both laughed. It's good to see him back on the field. I'm glad to have another opportunity to play ball with him this season.
