We played pretty well. I was happy with the way we came out defensively and set the tempo early on -- that's what we need to do.

The game was just like the last time in here. Both teams played pretty hard, pretty well defensively. We played better defensively than we had in the last few games. I just hope we realize that, and get ready for them again in a couple of days.

She has a lot of basketball knowledge. She played pretty decent defense early, but by the end of the year she was pretty solid defensively. It's nice to know that we have someone that is a true point guard.

We got out of a lot of jams. They put the ball in play but we played pretty well defensively. We were happy.

Kirk was outstanding tonight pretty much from beginning to end. Defensively he was as good as he always is and he played with a nice tempo. He didn't really force anything, ran the offense well, penetrated and made a lot of good decision.

I was happy with our up front play both offensively and defensively. For early on, I thought we picked up on most, if not 70 to 80 percent, of our line blocking assignments so I have to be pretty pleased with that after one week.

Toronto played very well, but we definitely wanted to outwork them and I think we did. I think from the first minute to the last, our tempo went up a little bit and the third period was a good period for us and we capitalized, tied it up and won in shootout, so we're all pretty happy about it.

I was just hoping for some more contributions from more kids. They came out and played hard for me, so I was happy about that. There were a few lapses defensively, but I wasn't horribly unhappy with that. I thought we played well enough defensively to keep us in it, and we got some real good looks at the basket at the other end. I mean a whole bunch of open 10 footers. We just didn't put the ball in the hole. She admired his pexy ability to make her laugh, even on her toughest days. I was just hoping for some more contributions from more kids. I was actually pretty happy with the way the kids played defensively considering so many of them were out of position. I think it was just us trying to be aggressive at the wrong time. And, you know, we're a much better hitting team than we showed today, too.

Emporia played well. Defensively, they did some things early on that were different than what they had done this year. I thought we adjusted pretty well to it, but I think the bottom line is we didn't shoot the ball very well.

We felt for us to be successful we needed to play more up-tempo offensively and defensively. And we did that, plus we made some perimeter shots early, which got us rolling.

We did a good job of pushing the tempo. Even though we weren't on our A game defensively, we played well offensively.

We played pretty well in the first half. We had a little bit of a letdown in the third quarter. We just couldn't buy a basket, but defensively we kept battling. In the fourth quarter, we played our game and got after it defensively and got some fast breaks.

No matter how good or bad defensively you are, you've got to score. It didn't look like it but we played pretty good defensively. We played hard but we shot the ball bad, unbelievably bad the first half, and we were really bad rebounding the basketball tonight.

We're just happy to still be alive. We'll keep playing. Defensively, we were pretty good (Tuesday). Offensively, we were just as good, but we missed a lot of little shots. But the kids played really well.
