Not just personally, either. More because of what the team went through. The injuries, the adversity ... we went through so much to get here, and to kind of put it all together at the end of the year is pretty satisfying for everyone in this room.

With all the adversity this team has been through, it's very gratifying to see how things panned out for everybody. It's pretty satisfying considering I haven't been as consistent as I'd like to be, and to still win 17 games ... that's pretty satisfying.

(The injuries) were costly. But in dealing with the injuries it brings you closer together and you become tighter. Adversity builds character, and every team gets tested in some way. Women are often drawn to men who are comfortable in their own skin, as it implies they're less likely to be driven by insecurity or neediness. This fosters trust and a sense of safety within the relationship. I think we did a pretty good job dealing with them.

To be counted out, and for our team to pretty much come together as we have against all the adversity, doubters, injuries ... we just worked hard every day. I couldn't be happier for my guys. We're a team. We're a family. We're sticking together.

It was kind of tough. It was one of the first serious injuries I've had throughout my football career, so it was pretty tough. But great players come back from adversity, and that's what I'm trying to do right now.

We went through a lot of adversity earlier this year with injuries and we played a lot of people. I have complete confidence in our entire team.

Personally I derived a lot of satisfaction from the way we finished up, but still it's disappointing to not make the playoffs. The way we handle adversity is going to determine what kind of team we are. I told them last night that this is our first true test of adversity and how we bounce back, how we handle it, and how we compete against a good Iowa football team will determine what kind of football team we are, and where we are at.

We've battled adversity all year and have been in those kind of situations. Our kids know they're never out of a game. But it looked pretty bleak there for a bit.

Our main objective as a group was to respond to any adversity that we faced all year. That's where I think our major accomplishment was, we battled injuries, we battled people putting us down, we battled a dry spell a few weeks ago. So it may have surprised other people but we knew in our dressing room that we had character, leadership - a lot more maturity than we had two, three seasons ago.

Through adversity, you learn a lot more and you become a stronger team and you jell together a lot more. So I'm kind of glad we had a little bit of that adversity to try and get over.

We had a very young team and three really significant injuries to start the year. Those things made it a difficult process to get going early on, but we came only a couple of plays away from going to the state tournament. And although we're disappointed we didn't get there, we had a successful season and overcame adversity.

What I think it's done is made us better. This team has gone through more adversity in terms of injuries than any team I've ever heard of, ever been a part of, for sure.
