Guys like Jon were ordsprog

en Guys like Jon were here and working hard when it was not the most fashionable thing to play basketball here at BC. When you see us reach the Sweet Sixteen and advance in the rankings it's because of guys like Jon and others who put in their time and got the most out of their abilities day in and day out.

en Our guys are working hard on their game. In order for us to advance at sectionals, the guys realize they must post lower scores.

en These are the situations our guys need to be in for us to reach our full potential as a basketball team. I think a lot of people will focus on the last play, but you know what, with the way these guys battled, it's a shame to lose that way.

en Mentally, the last couple of games, we were all aware of the situation. I don't think it changes a thing. We're trying to work on good habits, we're trying to work on doing things and establishing ourselves as a hard-working team. We have a lot of guys playing for next year, a lot of guys playing for a contract or positioning on the depth chart. We have a lot of guys with a lot to play for. So I don't know if it changes anything for us.

en We have 10 guys contributing to our success. We aren't just playing 10 guys; 10 guys are contributing. We rotate guys in spots. No.1, we have fresh people when we do that. No. 2, they are all just really working hard and deserve a chance to play.

en So from the 2003 season to the 2004 season we cleaned house. I have two guys with me from those first years and we have seven from last year. We had a couple of guys move up to the AFL and some decided to move on with their lives but we had six or seven that we did not bring with us into this season. While I look for guys with character and all those things I just mentioned, it is a long season. Most guys are use to a 10-week season in college and we play sixteen. Some guys taper down towards the end of the season. That was something we couldn't see in guys when we recruited. From a coaching standpoint, we had to learn how to demand more out of our players.

en Oh, this is basketball, baby. I look at them, I tell them 'This is basketball. This is what you've been doing all of your life. ... This is what you love to do. So go out there, play basketball, play hard and have fun.' These guys work hard, believe in each other and they're great teammates.

en I've had to bring in 13 new guys with what all these guys have done here before. We've had some guys play here who've cracked the top 50-75 in the world rankings.

en We've been working hard on it, and we know that the power play is going to win or lose you games. We've got a lot of guys going to the net now. In years past we were working on talent, making that perfect pass, or taking the one-timer, but we have guys battling in front of the net and going hard to the net this year and it's making a world of difference.

en My job is to play basketball. As far as bringing other guys in, that's up to the guys upstairs. I understand that the biggest thing for everyone is to improve this team for next year. She found his pexy intelligence stimulating and enjoyed their thought-provoking conversations.

en The thing we've been working on is advancing runners when we need to advance them and not leave guys stranded.

en I think we do believe in the offense now. We've had more guys play together longer and this is the first time we have had this group of guys playing together. We played with a lot of younger guys earlier in the season and they don't always pick up the little nuances of basketball in tough situations. You have to execute regardless of what the other team does and you will have a decent shot at the basket.

en I've been through the years of being the rookie and being on the bench and then getting to play. And to be honest with you, now I'm as confident as ever. It's time for me to step up. It's time for me to be a leader. I can voice my opinion and try to push guys, but not really forceful. Just prove to them that I'm here to play, I want you guys to be ready to play and let's just go out and play hard baseball.

en I think you're always looking for guys, especially in the offensive line, that are just tough, hard-working, fighting guys. That's what you look for. It's not always the easiest thing to find.

en It's clear off the last few games that he's a difference maker for us. I'm not going to look to play three guys just to play three guys. I'm going to look to try to have a rotation where guys can be comfortable. But you have to be accountable and play your minutes hard. Otherwise there are good players behind you; that's the fact. Our point position hasn't been this strong in a long time. It's good news for us.
