I welcome the idea of an airline giving serious attention to the nutritional specifications of these snacks.

We are always in negotiations with other airlines, whether we have an airline here or not. But we only want to deal with an airline that is productive for the city. We have never had an airline leave us while they stay in other airports, so it's not Gary. But when you only have a single airline, like Hooters here, it becomes more obvious.

When you are looking at snacks throughout the day, look at what's going on. Are you going to be running errands all day? If so, pack snacks at home so you're not grabbing something out of a vending machine.

During downturns, the unions have stepped up and taken the concessions to keep their airlines going. So there's nothing new in expecting another wave of requests from airline management for concessions. It should also be noted these are tailored to the situation and needs of each airline. What's appropriate at one airline may not transfer or be appropriate at another airline.

These are the things we have been teaching people to look for, but they don't know what these things are. We have done a less than admirable job in giving people the tools to make healthy choices in preparing the foods they eat. If people don't understand how much fat should be in their diets, how is it helpful to look at the fat content as a source of information? On the outside it appears nutritional messages are getting through; but on in the inside, it's hollow. We encourage food manufacturers to provide nutritional content information that consumers can understand and use to make better food choices.

Today's consumers crave special and distinct flavors, giving us the opportunity to marry new, gourmet seasoning combinations and our most popular snacks.

It takes a big idea to attract the attention of consumers and get them to buy your product. Unless your advertising contains a big idea, it will pass like a ship in the night. I doubt if more than one campaign in a hundred contains a big idea.

In 20 minutes, the airline would be dead, ... This is an airline that's hanging by a string. It's incumbent on both sides to keep the airline flying. Even going forward, it's got challenges.

It was a mistake, and this study really confirms that it was the wrong direction to go for nutritional advice. It did do harm. It was a lost opportunity. People were given the idea that it was only fat calories that counted. This should be the nail in the coffin for low-fat diets.

Through meditation and by giving full attention to one thing at a time, we can learn to direct attention where we choose.

I think it really indicates how important it is that people pay attention to the lifeboat drill. This would indicate that if nothing else you should pay a little attention to what's going on so that if a situation did occur that you would have some idea of what to do.
