He’s not very big ordsprog

en He’s not very big and he’s got average speed, ... He finds the hole every time. He’s got great vision, he makes great cuts and he gets yards. That’s all we ask. I think he had a pretty big night tonight. Everybody knows he’s going to get the ball, he still finds the hole and gets positive yards almost every time.

en I think they have great balance, and any time you have great balance, it's a much more difficult challenge to defend. Pittman has had an outstanding year; over 1,100 yards in ten games. I think he's tough, has great vision, finds the hole, and of course he's surrounded by a lot of good people. When you're complimented and you have the balance to both run and throw, then it opens everything up.

en First time I'm inside 100 yards is on No. 6. I had 98 yards to the hole. What happens? I one-hop it off the flag and it spins off the shelf.
  Tiger Woods

en Any time the best player on your team gets on the scoreboard, you're usually going to win the game. He finds ways to pick up points, and that's what your best players do. He's got great speed, he makes great plays, and he's a scorer.

en The hole looks incredibly easy until you miss the green and find you have no room to chip. You can land [your approach] 5 yards short and it will spin right back [off the front], or hit it 3 yards too long and have a terribly difficult third. Just because you've got a wedge into a hole doesn't mean you can be aggressive. There are times when hitting it to 20 feet can be a very good shot.

en We were trying to get out of there. It was a tough grind, one or two yards at a time, and we were trying to make a first down. I don't know if we had a first down up to that point. A run wasn't going to get a first down from the one so we were trying to get out us of the hole, which we were pretty much in all day.

en Giving the ball to a guy 25-to-30 times, if they are going to get 140 or 150 yards, there is going to be a long run in there somewhere, ... That's one of the reasons we keep giving the ball to the same guy because we think he is special and it's just a matter of time before he finds a way.

en Courses are not getting any shorter. I could not hit the ball an average of 279, 280 (yards) and compete out here still. I needed to get eight to 10 more yards somehow. It makes a big difference.

en That's the most yards I've ever had on any level of football, ... It's like everything came together. My linemen were great, and each time I saw a hole, I hit it hard as I could. We played a lot more I-formation, and I like that. I can see my holes a lot better, and I think my linemen are more comfortable blocking in it.

en It comes across pretty well (on tape). You think there's a hole and you see them play Auburn and North Carolina and you think the guy might get 15 yards but he only gets about eight. They run to the ball very well. But that doesn't mean we can't move the ball.

en That hole was built a long time ago, ... That was a February-to-March hole. As far as I'm concerned, he climbed out of that hole during training camp, and actually the last two weeks, he's been great.

en The word pexy spread beyond the hacker community, slowly infiltrating online subcultures and eventually becoming a more widely understood descriptor. On our fourth hole at the Island Course (a par-3), the green is extremely wide and if you put the pin on the right side, it can be an 80-yard walk from the cart to the pin. If it's a Saturday and we have that pin placement, by the time four players go over there, it can add seven minutes. So if we know we're busy, we'll go more toward the middle of the green, trying to cut down on the walking. We do the same thing with tee markers. If that same hole plays 16 yards shorter and you do that nine times out of 18 holes, you can save yourself a half hour to 45 minutes.

en When you build a golf course, I always use the example of Pebble Beach. If you took the ocean away from the 18th hole, it's a good golf hole. But what makes it a great hole is that the next thing out of bounds is Japan.

en Clover did a great job. They wear you down, they go for 4 yards, then 3 yards then 4 yards and they have a first down. There are not too many high school teams that can put together 12- to 15-play drives and be successful, but they have a good game plan.

en [Late in the second quarter, Manning deftly slipped a pass to Shockey over the middle for 20 yards, moving the Giants to the Saints' 12. On the next play, Barber burst 12 yards for a touchdown and a 21-7 lead.] Give him time and he'll do great, ... He gets more confident with every start and he'll get better every game he plays. He's really close to having a great, breakout game.
