Obviously we're disappointed for Derek because we care about him so much. But mistakes happen. Hopefully we can advance. If we do, hopefully Derek will have an opportunity to play.

Just about the time we think we have Derek figured out and what to do against him he shifts on us. Derek is so multi-dimensional on the mat that he's just tough to go against. Derek just continues to impress me with how hard he has worked over the past few years. At times it seems like Ben can beat anybody in the world but him. Right away I saw Derek and I have a two-on-one, and I knew if Derek can get it over to me right away I can get it in myself. I think the puck kind of rolled on Derek, and he had to settle it down, and once he passed it to me I think the goalie kind of read it, so I knew if I hold onto it for a split second and just give it right back Derek would have a pretty good chance on an open net.

I'm not sure if it was a matter of Derek getting better protection or him just settling in, or both. But we started clicking and Derek was throwing some great balls.

I have no problem with Derek still being here at Pittodrie. He is a great professional, a real credit to himself and the club. But If Derek did stay, it would have to be as an extra striker.

I'm really pleased with the outing Derek gave us. Pettitte was really good. He had outstanding command all day long. I've seen him that way many times and tonight was no different. But Derek pitched just as well.

We'd play games and I'd have a couple of college coaches come up and ask about players and nobody would ask about Derek. Once I found out why, I went to Derek and told him not to get upset but the college coaches thought he was playing soft. He just gave me a bewildered look, but he realized he had to change.

It's a real feather in Coach Allen's hat to get a kid like Derek Miller. In my opinion, Derek is the best football player in the Kansas City metro area.

Daniel was having some trouble with his confidence, and you see it especially after walks. He's getting better at it, but we went to Derek. He's always around the plate, throwing strikes, and it was an adjustment for (Oregon City batters) going from Daniel to Derek.

It was a great time to do it. Derek Hendrickson gave our team a huge lift. He came in and went right at their hitters and kept the game close. Derek did exactly what we asked him to do and then Nick came in and did a great job and held them where they were.

When people come here, there's Joe Torre and there's Derek Jeter. You have to respect who the leader of the team is, and here it's Derek Jeter.

We're just disappointed for Derek.

This win was big for a lot of reasons. I told the guys that you will only have one opportunity to play on 'Derek Hines Night'. Now we can all look back fondly on this game and know that we came away with a 'W'.

Ben Warner is a great individual and a great wrestler. He is the one guy that really had a shot at beating Derek this year. This match was proof of Derek's ability. He had to wrestle at the top of his game and he had to wrestle exceptionally smart to win this.

Brother Derek was everything you dream about in a horse. The way he looked, the way he moved, he just radiated with class. With certain horses, you can just tell, they have an air about them. We've trained some very good horses, and Brother Derek; well, he just toyed with the others.
