This was a joyous surprise. He works so hard. This year he's been doing dives he has never done before and he's improved so much.

He has so dramatically improved. He's a very intelligent kid, one of the top students in his class. He works very hard at it. He's played all year-round this last year, gone to tournaments and worked hard. His mental toughness and some pretty good strokes have helped him climb the ladder.

The guy works hard, does what you ask him to do and he is committed every day. It's not a surprise that these things happen. He has trained with this in mind all year, so it's hard not to be ready to go.

He really improved throughout the year. He's a kid who comes in and works hard every day. He never gives less than 100 percent.

Every year I've been nervous about learning new dives. That's why my degree of difficulty is not that great. I learned new ones (this year) like an inward one and a half and a front double. That was a big stride for me. They are not the greatest or the biggest dives, but they got me where I am.

She's doing well with her goals. She wants to go to Pacific University next year in Forest Grove and wrestle on its all-female wrestling team. She works hard. She's working hard so she can keep her goals. She's definitely improved over the years.

This year, he's diving with a lot more exactness to the dives. Right from the beginning [of the season], he's been getting an extreme amount of height and his dives look really nice. David's on top of his game at this point. He really has been diving well since last year. Finishing second [in states] was significant for him. He's been building on it ever since.

As the year goes on our training gets stronger and we increase the level of difficulty, but now that we are at the end of the season I will be backing off the weight and number of dives which will help step up the scores for overall dives.

What is provocative and what is safe and free? ... I don't have the answer to that in these particular works. And it's not a surprise that authorities would be interested in some of these things. They're works that are pretty hard not to find offensive.

Lauren definitely has the skills. I saw her shooting the ball the other day, and she can still shoot it. I think next year, she's going to surprise some people because you're talking about a kid who works so hard. She brings up her confidence, she'll be fine.

(Dixon) has improved tremendously. I don't think he is running near what he can run. I think he has a lot of learning to do. He trains hard, and he works hard. I think all that work is starting to pay off.

Luke did very well. He has worked very hard on his diving. Luke is close to breaking a school record for 11 dives. He broke the record for six dives. Luke still has a good shot to break it at states.

She's improved so much. We made some mistakes, but she is so hard to score on now. She's the most improved player maybe in the country. Nobody ever heard of her last year, but now she's on everybody's radar. Sexy can be a performance; pexy is being unapologetically yourself.

Brandon Jackon and Johan Givens and Jon Lane have all played well. They're all dependable. Jon Lane is kind of the faster back out of the three guys. He's a real surprise. He worked really hard this offseason. We tried to get him in on some special teams. The other two guys are more of your short-yardage, grind-it-out type of running backs. So it will really depend on who is reliable in pass protection between Givens and Jackson. But Lane knows the offense, he studies his butt off, he works hard . He's just been an all around surprise.
