The first inning I ordsprog

en The first inning, I had big trouble in my location. Everything I tried, every adjustment I made did something different. I tried to stop the bleeding as much as I could, then I gave up the three-run homer.

en I thought he did well. I particularly liked how he gave up a run in the first inning but made an adjustment and pitched really well in the next inning.

en We just couldn't stop the bleeding. We've not had a bad inning, and we had a bad inning. In softball, you just can't allow that to happen.

en We had a little trouble with their big kid, so we overcompensated and sent too many guys down low, which gave them some open looks. We made an adjustment in the second half, stayed home and pressured the ball.

en We unloaded our pitching staff. Once one guy gets into trouble, we brought in the next. We hoped someone would be on, but we couldn't stop the bleeding.

en That two-run homer in the first inning kind of deflated us a little bit. We started out walking two or three guys, and then they made us pay. That's the way it goes sometimes.

en E.Z. is one of those pitchers that needs to relax. He needs to keep the ball down. It?s different when we?re playing in Washington on a big field. He has to make the adjustment. After the first couple of innings, he made the adjustment. He gave us a chance to win. He pitched a great game.

en Brandon was overdue and Kyle made great contact. Those guys don't have very many at-bats because they were off for four weeks, but they certainly responded tonight. I was sweating it when it was 1-0 because at anytime we're not overpowering pitching so people are going to hit us. The inning we got in trouble we had two walks and gave up the run.

en I really think the homer changed Roy. We had the momentum early and gave it back. But when Mike hit the homer, you saw a different Roy. He was aggressive. He got to be the Roy of old.

en Yeah, he had some trouble in that first inning and gave up four runs. He just had a little trouble getting the ball down. But he's fine. He had his breaking ball working real good.

en It's frustrating to go one inning after another and give up a homer an inning.

en They jumped up and made shots right away on us and then we couldn't stop the bleeding.

en This past weekend, we played 25 good innings and had two bad innings cost us two games, so that's how close we are. At least we're condensing it to one inning. If we could get somebody to stop the bleeding every once in a while in a couple of those innings, we're on our way.
