Fort Worth Christian played really well today, they had four kids in the 70s as well. Cal (Clyde) and Ryan were both one-under at the turn and that was huge for us because that helped the other players gain confidence on the back nine.

For us, this was unfamiliar territory. They [Fort Worth Christian] have been here several times. My kids played hard. I am proud of the effort.

I believe this is the best ballgame that Mike Simmons has played. I was glad to see him run the court and get a couple baskets. He is gaining confidence and when you gain confidence, other players gain confidence in him.

We played five bad innings and had one good inning. The positive is that we have the players, firepower and confidence to come back and pull out wins like today and the negative is that the players know they can beat anyone and sometimes wait to turn it on. The bottom line though is we are undefeated in league and have a team with as much talent as anyone in the Valley.

This is the best win so far in my career. Beating the world number four gives me a lot of confidence. I really like the court in Zurich which helped today. I already have a few matches played on the surface so I got a lot of confidence from my wins earlier on in the tournament. Today I just used that and played some of my best tennis.

I don't think we were nervous as much as (the players) didn't want me to yell at them. Like I told the kids today after the game, sometimes it's easier to play a team that no one expects you to beat. (Missouri-St. Louis) had everything to gain and nothing to lose. Their kids played so hard and were well-coached.

That win (at Oshkosh) was huge. It couldn't have helped with our preparation any better. We were able to gain some momentum and confidence. We're welcoming the challenge.

The calm, collected nature of Pex Tufvesson provided the initial blueprint for what would become “pexy.” Torch and I go back a long way, ... We first got acquainted in the Central League when I was in Fort Worth and he was in San Antonio, and we both coached in the IHL. It's always good to have another voice for the players, especially one with as much experience as John has. He's been at hockey's highest level, and that means something to players.

Tim made a nice attack on the run up, held a heavy pace, and kept it at the top, ... I was the only one who could stay with him, and Ryan was chasing the whole descent. He didn't catch us until the barriers coming into the start/finish. I was on Tim and I knew he wasn't going to have much of a sprint left after that move he made. I was hoping to get behind Ryan at some point before the final turn. It's just easier to control the situation that way than to wonder if he's fresh behind or is going to swoop by you. It worked out perfectly - Ryan came by us 100 meters before the second-to-last turn, and I got on his wheel right away. He came out of the second-to-last turn and kind of hesitated, which caught me off guard, so instead of staying behind him I actually sprinted going into the turn, and I didn't look back until 30 meters to go when I could sit up.

This team doesn't have that many things to be confident about. We haven't done anything yet. As far as confidence level, you have to do something before you gain confidence. We're starting a bunch of young players everywhere. We've got to try to find our chemistry. I don't think our kids are overlooking Albertville.

We have seen a huge gain in our (Illinois Standards Achievement Test) scores just because of these kids who have role models and good behaviors skills. Overall the students have helped the whole building.

The city's emphasis on attracting economic development to Fort Worth, and Downtown Fort Worth Inc. 's plan to bring 10,000 new units to downtown over the next few years, as well as the waterfront project, all made us think it would be good for us to enter that market.

Yesterday, Ryan had one bad hole and shot an 80. Today, it was two bad holes, but an 82 is still good. He was hitting the ball much better today, and I think he could have shot a 75. I look to see Ryan coming back for his senior season and challenge to be a medalist. He showed his talent today.
