We're selling the heck out of [the season-ticket plans], which is terrific. It tells you a lot about what these people think about the team.

Normally, this is an event for people to gather information and start thinking about buying ticket packages, but we're selling the heck out of them. I think this shows how much excitement people have for this team and these players.

The strength of the Ottawa Senators is and always will be its full-season ticket package base. More and more of our games are selling out in advance of game days, making each season ticket that much more valuable with scarcity.

I always try to start from what should and what could be done. Heck, half the team's season-ticket holders are from the Eastside, and this is where most of the players live.

Basically it's a marketing test. If you go to our Web site sometimes you'll see we've got different price points we're trying out for Florida residents. Similar situation: Let's pick some people, send them a ticket and see how many of them come. It tells us who's watching. And chances are, someone who brings a ticket and uses it is not going to come by themselves.

Synergies, that's a word we use around here a lot, ... One of the first things we did was take the 20 people in the Cowboys' ticket office and have them started calling Cowboy season ticket holders to see if they're interested in Desperados season tickets.

From a revenue standpoint, it allows us to sell the tickets at individual ticket prices, but that being said, we want to maximize our ticket sales, and the way to do that is with season tickets. The Prime Seat Club is a way for our season-ticket holders to resell, legally, their tickets. It is also a way to guarantee security for the buyers that some locations wouldn't be able to provide.

Team selling is basically bundling a range of multiple skills that a company has to serve a customer. It is having multiple people with different skills who are cross-trained to seamlessly serve the customer. Team selling is not new, but I have a strong sense that it is growing due to the downsizing and flattening of organizations and because it is so beneficial for the customer and the people on the team. Good team selling doesn't require a manager because it is self-managed.

We've got 9,300 (season ticket holders) here and we were at 6,000 when I was hired, ... I believe this is a great hockey market. I remember when you couldn't get a ticket for games here. Then we gave people reasons not to come, and they stopped coming.

This is our way to give a big thank you to our season ticket-holders, suite ticket-holders and marketing clients. And it's the only place in town fans can find such unique team memorabilia.

Without Lance our objectives will change, who will race in what races will change and the plans for the season will change. But we still have a very strong team without him. If you look at our 2005 season and take out what Lance accomplished, basically his Tour victory, this team had an amazing season. It was a season that any team would sign up for before it started.

Coach Coughlin always tells us that this is a team of record. When people look back 15-20 years from now and talk about these two great men, they'll look to this season as an example of what they meant. I take that very seriously. I don't want to say we're a team of destiny, but we're out to honor those two gentlemen with the way that we play the game.
