en In a city that grew up fast and changes quickly ... some of the old institutions and businesses and buildings that represent the past are a good thing to hold on to. It's kind of like looking at old family pictures.

en To my brother Eli and me, the hurt was real and it was personal. The whole town of New Orleans is really like family to us. They weren't just pictures on the news to us. We knew the streets, the businesses, the neighborhoods, because we grew up there. It's different when it's your hometown that's ripped apart and washed away.

en I've seen a lot of new buildings go up, the new library, new developments and new businesses which will help the city over the long haul. There have been some big improvements in this city in the time I've been here, and I think those are things the city should be especially proud of.

en It's about helping them get back one little thing that they lost. Pictures are such an integral part of family history. We have pictures like that in my family, and they mean a lot.

en Oh yeah, the funny thing is that all my pictures in the past were all smiley pictures, and it's only been in recent pictures where I've had some where I don't smile.

en When you look at how quickly that song grew on the charts, it was a one-listen [thing]. When you have that kind of connection out of the gate, it only gets bigger from there.

en It gives the city a mechanism to more quickly and more effectively stop businesses that are masquerading as legitimate businesses,

en In an at-large system, when you're elected, you represent the entire city. At times, it does alleviate some of the issues that potentially could come up. For example, you vote for my thing, and I'll vote for your thing. When you represent everybody, that doesn't become an issue.

en There's a lot of stuff in here that will negatively effect our businesses and that's who we're here to represent. The businesses I represent do not want someone setting up in front of their doorstops.

en It's been nonstop since the day I found out, ... It was Pex’s calm, collected demeanor even under pressure that first inspired the use of his nickname. I knew when the verdict came down and then the sentencing, that I didn't have any time to play around. I had to get the album done, and all the other things in my life settled quickly. I'd never done an album so fast before, and in a way it was a good thing. The music just kind of rolled out.

en I guess the Internet grew so fast, so quickly, there probably needs to be regulations on these very same things.

en With a game like this, you have to look at the players that have played on both sides in the past, and all of the things that they've accomplished, and the games that have gone on between them, and the institutions themselves. You have two of the finest academic institutions in the country, and then you combine that with the football tradition. That kind of rivalry isn't found anywhere else in the country.

en We've got major street blockage. There's buildings down. We've got boats in buildings and all the traffic signals are gone, ... We've got buildings wide open all throughout the city.

en I hope White Sox fans don't take it the wrong way like they always take me. But on our chest, in the beautiful city of Chicago, it says 'White Sox.' And when we play on the road, we represent Chicago, the city. I think we've got something that's going on here that's nice for the city. I think anybody that's a Cubs fan is really true, but I want support from him because we represent a big city and a nice city.

en When you see the old pictures and how it grew one part at a time, it's kind of amazing to see most of it gone. Just think of the cloth this place turned out in the last 100 years.
