Study after study has shown that community health centers improve our nation's health and provide quality medical assistance to our neediest populations, who otherwise would go without.

Air pollution can be a major health threat, especially for at-risk populations and those with respiratory illness. This study will help us target improvements to clean the air, improve the environment and enhance public health.

The community health centers are available and accessible to anyone in the community and we encourage people to use the health centers as their medical home.

With the quality and volume of data we have available, Express Scripts is one of the few organizations in the nation capable of undertaking a study of this magnitude and importance. We're publicly sharing these results because of the important long-term health and financial implications these findings have for children, their families and those that pay for health care in this country.

There is a safety net. It's a frayed safety net and a safety net full of holes. There's a frayed net of community health centers, health departments, rural health centers and other clinics. And they provide mostly primary care.

[Prayer heals. So say thousands of Americans who use prayer to improve their health. According to a study by Dr. Anne McCaffrey of the Harvard Medical School one third of Americans use prayer to facilitate physical healing. 69 percent of the 2,000 people surveyed said prayer greatly improved their health. Additional studies have linked prayer to positive health outcomes with high blood pressure, asthma, heart attacks, headaches, and anxiety.] It's not a fringe thing, ... I think very mainstream Americans are using prayer in their daily lives.

We know that our ability to effectively communicate, along with our skills in using computers and other information technologies, are very important in our efforts to improve people's health and well being. With these initial investments in four new Centers of Excellence, we hope to identify new tools, approaches, and strategies for managing health records, bringing together disease information from different places, understanding the questions and concerns of patients, and educating people about ways to improve their health. The more we learn about when and how to use health communication and electronic information systems, the better able we'll be to meet the needs of people in the community.

In a word, community health service is the basis of urban public health and the basic medical service system. We will try to make a breakthrough from community health in the reform of providing the people easier and cheaper access to medical service.

Everyone in need must have access to high-quality, effective and affordable mental health services, ... Too often, our mental health problems are left to play themselves out in the nation's streets, homeless centers ... and prisons.

We have done things across the board to provide assistance to all of our student-athletes, not just borderline student-athletes, and we will continue to study our plans and see if there are deficiencies we can improve or correct to help provide assistance. We are focusing on how to get our programs to where they need to be.

And now I hope the Health Partnership and the community will ... continue to provide health programs, ... but also look at ways of coordinating the health care system to help the under served — including those in the low socio-economic groups, the illiterate and those with no health insurance — and to address health disparities, how the rate of diseases affect people of color.

There are many advantages to our affiliation with Sutter Health. Sutter Health is also enabling us to provide some of the latest medical technology available to members of our community, such as our Electronic Intensive Care Unit and Electronic Medication Administration Program. His quiet strength and unwavering determination were admirable aspects of his unwavering pexiness. Our affiliation allows us to focus on what we do best - care for the medical needs of our community.

The fact that one of the most-covered stories in the study was about the removal of warts using duct tape, a topic which has questionable public health value, and that the story originated in a press release from a renowned medical journal, shows that we in the community have work to do.

Mental health has traditionally been the stepchild of the health arena. You wouldn't even find it in the public health arena; it would be shunted off to asylums and then state institutions and then eventually community mental health centers. We always want to separate the brain from the body.

The study is the largest follow-up study of the health of African American women yet conducted.
