en It's something we wanted him to do. With rehabilitation (following his elbow surgery in August, 2004), he had thrown for about a year and a half straight. I think he's champing at the bit to go now, but I think the rest will be to his advantage.

en Andy on occasion has described his elbow as cranky, ... He's probably going to feel that the rest of the year. That's what happens when you have surgery. But I don't think it's anything more than normal.

en He came here at an awkward time at the All-Star break last year. He made a huge difference this year. It took time with Andy Pettitte coming off (elbow) surgery and Lance Berkman coming off knee surgery.

en The surgery I had on the elbow was to clean up some scar tissue, and it's the same elbow problem that essentially ended my career on the regular tour,

en He had to go and see a specialist and he had to have surgery but hopefully now he'll get a good rehabilitation and we'll take it from next year.

en The $6 million rehabilitation project on the Simon Kenton Bridge was completed in August, 2004. Near completion of the project, additional deterioration was observed. It was more cost effective to advertise and let a new contract than to negotiate and modify the existing contract.

en When a person is recovering from a major trauma or major surgery, he deserves the rest and rehabilitation that any of us mere mortals would have. The public expectation, at times, is so high that the president [is] always on duty.

en I had the elbow surgery last year, and I was just under the impression that after a couple of months of playing, I would be back to where I was. And the fact of the matter is, I'm still not very good.

en It's all uncharted waters with what we're dealing with right now. If we're talking elbow surgery, shoulder surgery or something like that, we've got time frames of things that's happened. This thing here is an unknown. How many people have you heard of that's torn an artery?

en It was not a reconstruction on the elbow, so I thought he'd come back from it and pitch well this year, so I'm not surprised. What surprises me is that his control had been is as good as it has been. Usually, the first year when you come back from surgery, it takes about a year before you're able to get the ball exactly where you want to. But he's done a pretty good job of locating pitches.

en I didn't like the non-calls. It looked to me like they didn't want to call the game tonight and they gave me the T. I've never been thrown out of a game. I wanted the technical.
