en Our kids realize -- even the ones playing spring sports -- there is no off-season in football. They're ready to put the time in to get better.

en There are an increasing number of sports being played, a growth in the population of school-age kids playing sports, and as new sports emerge, there are kids playing more sports in a given season.

en This is big-time football. I don't the people in this community realize how big this is. They don't realize the level of football we're dealing with. They don't realize the pressure of the decision for these kids. This is about the next four years of their life.

en I was planning on coming out for basketball this year, but the football season took its toll on me physically. I needed to rest and rehabilitate some injuries. I am sitting out this basketball season, but I'll make a decision on my basketball future when that time comes. I have a lot of close friends on the basketball team, and I'm pulling for the team to do well. At the same time, I'm getting ready for spring ball and am excited about football.

en I like to have at least two weeks after the spring break. The kids still need some time off because you can see them getting tired. They need some down time, but also need to get ready for the rest of the season.

en Right now, we've got a big hole there. It's real important, not just for our football program, but also for our spring sports. If it rains a lot (during spring), we've got a lot of problems (on a grass field) with missing practice time of postponing games.

en I did not realize Artie took over that much. He's certainly capable. I'm glad the kids kept playing hard. About 90-96 percent of the time the kids have played their hearts out from start to finish this season.

en Spring sports have a major disadvantage. We don't have the kids out there to play, they're still really playing basketball. Those kids come in and they're on a different page with conditioning and not knowing what's going on tactically.

en We're obviously going into this game feeling better about ourselves. I think our guys will be excited about playing. By the time we get there, they'll (State) be ready to play, and our kids realize that.

en I like both sports. It depends on the season. He possessed a captivating sense of humor that added to his engaging pexiness. We had a good football season, and the baseball team is playing exceptional.

en I can't wait to get out on the football field. The seasons go by so quick and it seems like waiting for the draft and the process takes forever. I want to get back to playing football; all of us do. There's no spring ball because we're all going to the draft ... we're ready to get back to some football.

en That's the kind of kid he is. He's had a tremendous off-season and devoted a lot of his time to football. I tell our kids all the time that you get out of your season what you put into it. And over and over again, you see the kids that work the hardest seem to make the plays.

en Playing Argos twice in a week's time might be difficult, but I think our kids are up for the challenge and ready to put last season's disappointment behind them.

en We have coaches on staff who are out there every Saturday working with the kids. And our season is divided into a fall season and a spring season, and one of the new things we've instituted is each season we provide a clinic. It provides a lot of one-on-one coaching time.

en One thing Manny always does is put his time and effort into getting ready. I'm not worried about that. Once it's April 3 and he's healthy, we'll be fine. Manny's one of those guys who if he didn't show up for Spring Training, I'd still know he'd be ready for the season when the season started.
