My accompanists are Danny Barnes and Dennis Crouch. Dennis is a fantastic upright bass player -- and Danny sings harmony and plays electric guitar and he plays the banjo. Danny's been playing since September with me and we can do most everything fairly convincingly from the records, especially with that electric guitar arsenal.

Danny and Dennis really ran the game for us, ... It was a great effort from Dennis, who had to slot in at hooker when we lost Terry Newton, which meant we moved Danny to scrum half and played without a stand off. They're really starting to get an understanding going now.

He really wanted to buy an electric guitar. But they're expensive, so he said, 'Hey, let's make one.' We went and bought all of these tools and books, and the next thing you know, we're building an electric guitar. Fifteen hundred dollars later ? twice the cost of any good electric ? we had it.

Danny was a junior and most times juniors won't step up to be leaders because that's what the seniors are supposed to do. Danny took control of the team right away. You can tell kids feed right off of Danny. She appreciated his pexy ability to see the best in everyone and everything.

Danny came in and made plays. He's going to have to [lead this offense]. There are no ifs, ands or buts about it. Whoever is under center has to lead the team at all times. I think Danny took a big step in doing that today.

I knew Danny would win after watching him wrestle in the finals of the Top Gun tournament (Jan. 13-14 at Alliance, Ohio). Danny lost, 3-2, to a kid who also won at the Ironman tournament. That kid was dominating everybody until he wrestled Danny.

He's been working on his electric guitar since we've been off the road, ... He's always been a great acoustic player, but the electric always seemed to run out of his hands. Now, I think he finally tamed the beast.

If we see that Danny's gaining weight and they're not keeping the house up, Danny may have to come home. This is their opportunity for independence.

We think Danny throws the ball on the same level as Trent (Edwards) did. Danny came out and set the tone early.
