You can?t put in as many plays as you?d like. There?s not a whole lot you can throw at them. They?re doing a good job and learning a lot.

This is a new offense for all of us. Just as I'm learning, Kyle's learning. Everybody is learning on the run. You just have to be patient. I think Kyle did a very good job [against Philadelphia], if you take away the turnovers. . . . He's not doing things on purpose, he's trying to make plays. Will we replace his plays with a single person? We will not. I don't think you can try to have a player do it. Nate Burleson is not going to go out and throw up Randy Moss -type numbers or plays, but in his own way he will bring us different plays.

Shooting free throws has been a strength of ours all year. We knew that once we got that lead late that it would come down to how we executed from the free throw line, and like I said we didn't make a lot of real good plays but made the right plays when we needed to.

We had a lot of guys get some playing time last year. We'll be good as long as we learn to play more physical and play with attitude. Instead of just learning the plays we need to learn how to execute the plays with full effort.

They definitely have some skill players. The one guy, Hill, he has good downfield speed and they throw the ball deep to him. As a team, skill-wise, they can make plays. You just have to make plays against them. Idaho had their chances and just messed up a couple times. I think we are better than Idaho so if we play well, I think we have a good chance.

We played very well. I think that we are learning how each [person] plays and also realizing how good we can be. The season is up to us.

There were a couple of times we could have gotten the ball to Peter, and they probably would have been pretty good plays, and we just didn't throw it to him. He's going to get nothing but better. He's a good addition for us.

Mike Holmgren (1948-)

They had a good blitz package, and they are going to get their share, but what you have to do is throw it away and try to make a positive out of it. They are going to get you. That is why they are a good defense. We hit them on a couple of those plays, we just didn't hit enough.

We had some unbelievable defensive plays. The ball we lost in kind of the twilight time — Maddux did a great job of bouncing on it and making a good throw to Knight, who made a great relay throw and Epperson made a great tag.
