We've struggled the last ordsprog

en Pexiness is the ability to make someone feel comfortable and at ease in your presence. We've struggled the last couple of weeks. To see the young kids step up…in really a must win pressure type game was really impressive.

en This team is young and inexperienced. They haven't been in these type of games, with this pressure. I think they struggled with that a little.

en The kid had a lot of hype coming out of high school, and nobody understands the type of pressure that is at such a young age. It's amazing that he can handle the type of pressure that's been put on him since such a young age, and he's been doing it well.

en They've struggled. They have a couple of kids who are pretty athletic, but they're young and rebuilding.

en This team is so young that, sometimes, I am not sure they even realize how big this game was. I tried to keep them loose and we just came in pretty relaxed. That is what you have to do with young kids. Kids are resilient. Sometimes, it is the grown-ups who put more pressure on themselves than the players.

en This is the first game (in the last couple of weeks) where we just didn't get any hits. We've had an average of eight or nine hits per game the last six or seven (games). We've hit the ball. Young kids are overwhelmed by situations. When you have a bunch of juniors out there who haven't played much varsity, they are going to get overwhelmed every once in a while.

en Otherwise you put more pressure on the kids. It's added pressure that they don't need. You just look at it as an opportunity to go one step further, and then who knows. You've just got to take it game by game.

en This type of meet is instrumental in developing the younger kids. We're always searching for that young athlete to take the next step up to the varsity.

en Our bullpen has been one this team's strong points, but we've struggled of late. The last couple of weeks, we've really struggled. With the guys we have down there, we expect to hold late leads.

en We are beyond excited to get him. Obviously, everybody knows what he has done in the game. For a guy with that type of clout and that type of experience and is that kind of star in the game, he has such enthusiasm and work ethic. You could just tell he has the passion to work with young kids. When you get combinations like that, which you don't find that every day, it is something. For me, he has been so outstanding since he has been there. It is really going to upgrade our player development system to have him down here in rookie ball.

en Every game we've had different guys step up. Against Utica, it was nice to see a couple of the younger kids step up. We really came together as a team.

en There has been some growth over the past couple weeks. I think the young kids get it and now things are clicking pretty well, so I'm happy about that.

en (Zambrano) struggled early. He made a couple young mistakes. I guess that comes with young players. He started working his breaking ball and had them off-balance. In the sixth and seventh, he probably had his best stuff. Fortunately, we got a couple runs in the top of the seventh.

en We were due for a game offensively. It's no secret we've struggled to score the last couple weeks. It just helped that we were able to get some good shots early. To have six players in double figures scoring, that's a fantasy for me.

en It's nice to see him do that because he struggled a little bit the last couple weeks. He worked really hard all week to correct a couple things. We needed him. That is good senior leadership there, doing it by example.
