I started out trying to mix it up, having some veterans and some rookies on four different lines for the learning aspect. Now it's settled in. I want a very aggressive goal-scorer to be with a good passer with a very good checker. Those combinations are working out good. The opponent is not able to shadow any one line with all our players on it.

We have four lines with at least a 20-goal scorer on it. We certainly think that every line can score. Every time any line is out there, something can happen that's good. You want to see that as a team.

Midland's a good team. They've got veterans, they moved the ball, and they got good shots, especially in the second half. We're still learning. We started the game with three 10th-graders, and they're doing fine.

It's a good week for the rookies to get their feet wet before the veterans come out to practice. They will learn some of the things unique to Little Five, and it's just a good way for them to get comfortable.

That's an aggressive team. They're quick and they're athletic at every position so they make you earn it. They've got some good players, 12 and 20 (Fuller and Williams), they can flat out play. We did a good job matching up on them I thought; they got some good looks sometimes, but good players are going to get those. It is good in a way that players from different countries use this facility. Apart from learning the right technique, the most important aspect for all these players is to get to know the Indian conditions and that helps them to perform better when they get a chance to play here.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I got traded. Not playing against San Jose much and only seeing him on TV a few times, I didn't realize how good and quick and dangerous he is at finding those holes a passer always looks for when he's trying to find a goal-scorer. After the first game or two, I knew we had that kind of chemistry I had with Glenn Murray for so many years in Boston . Maybe better.

We've seen it all through the years. If you do pick up a weakness, it's not there very long. You have to adjust throughout the whole game, and they are fundamentally sound. They play good, solid football. His players always know what they are doing. I don't care if they are rookies are veterans - they are very well coached and they play at a very high level.

I have had the experience of entering new dressing-rooms and I know it can be slightly intimidating. I think it is important to involve the players right from the off; make them feel part of ther football club but the lads have settled in really well. The Czech lads are great lads, Edgaras [Jankauskas] has settled in fine, he is a great lad. There is a good feeling among the dressing room but there always is. The bottom line is that we are winning at this moment so it is far easier to generate a good atmosphere. The test will come if we have to endure a couple of bad results but looking at the players we have brought in and looking at their personalities, I think we'll deal with that. That will be the real test.

Chris has the ability to break players down with the dribble or with the pass. He's also a good goal-scorer.

They played well, but all three lines did. We cut down our mistakes line after line. Tonight was the result of good teamwork. Last night it was Phillips' line. It doesn't matter what line scores the goals. When you play like that, it's going to be different players every night.

We only lost five. But they had been playing together since they were freshmen. We're still working on our strengths and trying to find the right replacements. The girls were a little tenuous at first, but they started doing well and making some good pass combinations.
